I haven't watched most of the games, and aside form the DNPs, I've heard good reviews form Seraphin so far. I heard that he's exceeded many Frenchman's expectations. The commentators were even gushing over him last game.
He's still far from a finished product, but I've heard he's been showing the potential to become a very good post defender. I heard he was bullying Kristic (soft player, but still) in the post last game, and he's France's best pick-n-roll defender by far.
And I've heard that he's been showing some of that soft touch, even from as far out from 10-15 ft. on his jumpers, and has been consistent from the FT line. And I saw on one forum that in the last game, he made one post move where he absolutely bulldozed his defender. He didn't finish the move, but did end up with free throws and the announcer said something like "that's one big young man right there!", and he showed enough touch that there's reason to believe he might even be able to finish those post moves with more seasoning.
After watching Yi in the World Championships last year, I'm hesitant to draw conclusions from non-NBA basketball, but Seraphin could be a contributor sooner than anyone realizes. Very impressive.
BTW, he had 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 blocks in his last game vs. Serbia. Replays of all Eurobasket games are available here.
