Watch Wizards draftee, Chris Singleton, play tonight with Jimmer and other Rookies
Needing your hoops fix? Jimmer's All-Stars exhibition game is tonight, featuring our #18 draft pick. Tonight at 9pm on BYUtv. DirecTV channel 374, or watch online at http://byutv.org or on the BYUtv iPhone/iPad app. Should be a fun game with some good talent, including Jimmer, Kemba, Bismack, Kawhi, and others.

Malcolm Lee is playing
UCLA’s Malcolm Lee, who coach Ben Howland pegged as the nation’s best wing defender, held Fredette to 25 points in an 86-79 win at the Wooden Classic on Dec. 18. Seven of Fredette’s points came on free throws; eight came in the first five minutes. Fans might complain about Lee’s scoring — he’s averaging only 12.8 points in 31.5 minutes — but there’s no questioning his defensive abilities. ESPN
Lee was invited to compete against Fredette and Kemba Walker when they worked out for the Jazz.
I managed to tune into this for the final 40 seconds or so
Wish I’d seen this post sooner. Anyway, I did see Chris Singleton in the wrap-up highlights, making an awesome block at the basket. He played on the Fredette and Faried team. I would have loved to see him playing against Biyombo. Who saw the game?
I watched most of the 1st half and some spots of the 2nd
I don’t know who picked the teams, but Team Fredette was outclassed. Faried was by far their best big, and he should have a long career as a Reggie Evans type. Singleton and Honeycutt didn’t look very engaged or comfortable playing off the ball. At times this was an oops fest, and I didn’t see either of them cutting to the basket.
Team Leonard’s Biyombo has some crazy elbows. They must stick out 2 feet from his body, and he uses them to clear space. That’s going to piss off a lot of NBA players. Isaiah Thomas stole the show, but I haven’t read anything about Aztec’s coach Steve Fisher calling him out in the second half. “Who are you guarding out there?” That was awesome.
Apparently it's getting rebroadcast tonight, so set your DVRs
They say it will be rebroadcast at 3 AM Eastern/ 1 AM Mountain time tonight, and it may eventually get posted on the byutv.org website, but it’s not certain.
Very excited about Singleton
I watched the game, and Singleton looked solid. He was jacking up too many threes, and hitting a few, but he was very active on defense and just looked good all-around. If his jumper improves, he’s going to be able to earn a lot more time on the floor with his ability to guard the 2-4.
Saw the game, and it was hard to conclude much about Singleton
He has better-than-average hands on defense, has very good timing for blocks, & pretty good help defense. But on offense, it’s a totally different story. He must’ve taken (literally) 10 threes, and he hit only 2. Every time on offense, he was camped at the top of the 3-pt line. I don’t know what was going on there. His ball-handling skills are so bad, I thought maybe he wanted to get the ball from distance because he didn’t dare put the ball in the lane. He’s not a fast player. All in all, I’d say he fits the mold of a Wizards player: just good enough to break your heart.
The best moment was in the 3rd quarter, when Bismack Biyombo came down hard going over the back of that other player from BYU. Singleton went over to him with his arms outstretched and gave him a “what was that” bump. Nobody likes Biyombo, though he’s going to be a good player when he gets to the league. Jimmer, Kawhi Leonard, Faried, and Tyler Honeycutt were impressive. I also thought Tobias Harris was pretty good, I think the Bucks have something interesting there.

I was disappointed
Just saw game on DVR. Singleton was totally uninterested most of the game, like a guy those girlfriend forced him to go to the mall on an NFL Sunday afternoon.
Spent 90% of time camped way beyond 3pt line. Terrible body language. Hit 2 trees early on and fell in love, shooting maybe a dozen more and hitting none. Not aggressive at all offensively. Didn’t even bother running the court.
More of the same on D. Lazy, seemed to be in some one on one contest with Kawhi Leonard, and lost repeatedly. Made the occasional deflection or block when he actually cared. Made no effort at all to pursue rebounds. Just terrible.
I don’t know the story behind this, but I havent seen such a lazy performance since Antoine Walker was last playing for Minnesota.
I admittedly didn’t watch Singleton much in college. Is this the norm, especially on offense? Should we be concerned? Yes, this was an exhibition game, but EVERY other guy seemed to be playing hard.
