Where's Our Free Agent Camp?

It is reported that the Lakers and Heat are holding free agent camps before the lockout date. Why did the Wiz snooze on this?

I realize the Lakers and Heat are more attractive places to play, have championship-ready teams and are truly looking for guys on the cheap to add to their rosters who might have been overlooked or are rejuvenating their careers. I mean the names are quite the ensemble: Eddy Curry, Gerald Green, Bobby Simmons.....

I just don't think it would have been bad business to hold these workout especially with no summer league activity. I mean the Wizards could use a veteran guard in the backcourt and a new (fingers-crossed) better version of Oberto/Hilton...so why not round up a bunch of guys even it was a slew of local guys: Mike Sweetney, Joe Forte, DeMarr Johnson, Jahidi White, Arinze Onuaku, Austin Freeman......

Gerald Green could be worth taking a flyer on

He’s always had the athleticism to be a solid shooting guard – a position of need if Nick Young goes to the Pacers or the Bulls or something – and it wouldn’t hurt to invite him to training camp.

I don’t think we’ve got room for anymore street FA’s. If we bring in someone it will be to play. Our Street FA slots are essentially full with Jeffers, Owens and Hamady.

If we do go looking for help they had better be able to shoot 3’s.
