If there is a summer league, should John Wall play in it?
I saw in a recent article the NBA has canceled the Vegas summer league because of the collective bargaining fiasco. That sucks.
But being the eternal optimist (and because the draft talk has burned my brain), I'm going to disregard that and ask who the Wizards should put on their summer league roster.
John Wall: I say no. The benefit of live jumpshot practice is more than negated by the risk of injury.
Jordan Crawford: I say yes. Our season doesn't hinge on his availability, but his improvement is extremely important for our future. Plus, I think he'd just set everyone on fire since he plays every game like it's a summer league game.
Trevor Booker: Tough one, but I say yes. He needs to add more to his arsenal besides a killer motor. During SL, he could work on ball-handling, slashing, moving w/out the ball, and other small forward skills.
Kevin Seraphin: Hell to the yeah. Get in there and learn, son.
Hamaday, Othyus, & Larry: Without question. These guys are prime SL fodder.
I'm not including Javale Mcgee. Do I think he should play? Yes. Do I think he would attend? No.

Its canceled, so it is a moot point
The Las Vegas Summer League has officially been canceled by the NBA this year. That news might be a bit more worrisome than some fans understand, especially when many aren’t really sure summer leagues even are.

Even if they revive it, NO
There is plenty of time to revive the Summer League if the two sides ca come to an agreement on the CBA. If they do, JW can sit it out. Let Crawford run the team with the D leaguers on the wings. Almost nothing to be gained from playing there.
It wouldn't hurt
but not sure Wall would even want to do it. Still, potentially playing with the new draft picks is nice. Wall has nothing to prove, but it’s not like he’s going to be sitting on his ass all summer. Its either working out in a gym or working with potential teammates. He could get hurt doing either.
If there was going to be a summer league team
Wall should play in it since a good amount of the players on the summer league roster as of now are starters and rotation players on our team next season.
