I'll give it an 8

but I would’ve probably gave it a 9 or 10 if it said “Bullets” instead of “Wizards” on it.

by iNFaMOUS SwaGG on May 10, 2011 4:48 PM EDT reply actions

My take on that is that the Wizards were trying to pay tribute to the Big-E

Wall will continue to wear #1…. but on this day, to christen the new uniform colors, they chose to have both Crawford and Wall wear # 11 …..

It was good to see Elvin Hayes up there… He looks good.

He's "delightfully cranky"

I used to have super powers until my psychiatrist took them away.

No it's 2011

so the 11 stands for 2011.

10/10

I’m going to have one of those red white and blue snow cones in celebration of it!

by thewiz06 on May 10, 2011 5:00 PM EDT reply actions

I gave a 7...and that is a far cry

from my initial response (i think the orangish tint watching the stream really didn’t do it justice)….

I see some areas I disagree with…but it is a dramatic improvement..

I'm looking forward to seeing the new court scheme.

I’m assuming the new Monument logo will be at center of the court and the new dc “hands” logo will replace the old “dc” logos inside the three point line.

Any thoughts on the baseline/sideline being blue or red? My vote is red.

replied below by accident

I think they will go with red…but I think blue would work better

red seems awfully bright

I just say red b/c blue has been done with the Hawks and 76ers.

I just think Red would be a little different.

hoping the same

monument ball at center court, dc on each side near the hash marks.

The Monumental Ball would be great at the center court!!

haha got me exited just thinking about it. The DC as an alternate is sweet too

hopefully

we are making the ‘dc’ our primary alternate, for lack of a better description. No more wizard.

I encourage everyone to go look at the actual jerseys in high def

all of the unveil photos don’t do the jersey justice….when you see the true color scheme…it really helps show how it pops…

+1 for the actual jerseys
-1 for streaming video clarity

7 stars

Its a step in the right direction. It could have been batter with the DC flag “3 stars” at the top of the jerseys or down the side of the shorts. I would have also liked to see “Washington” on the front of both home and away jerseys. Its certainly an improvement over the old Wiz uni’s.

Only not a 10 because it still says Wizards on it.

They look pretty nice. Just found out about the Uniforms a couple minutes ago on PTI. They look pretty nice.

A little old school, which is cool. I like ‘em, but I didn’t jump out of my seat or anything. Still, good move and big improvement.

Definitely still in the running for my post-Kirk-retirement eternal team loyalty. ;)

Great improvement, nothing to shocking

I really dig the home jersey, the road jersey a little less. All in all i like it though: 8

More shocking chances would have led to more people hating on it ánd more people loving them. This is a result almost everybody can live with i think.

oh, and i absolutely lóve the monument ball logo and the DC logo

i think the lay up weird looking wizard as a main logo could be replaced by something including the three red stars in the future.

I already said I gave them an 8

But to comment on the jerseys, the home jerseys look sick. And I might be alone on this, but the away jerseys look kind of weird to me.

by iNFaMOUS SwaGG on May 10, 2011 7:32 PM EDT via mobile reply actions

I gave it a 10....

Esp. since it is not red from top to bottom…. that was my FEAR…. The “paying homage” is clearly a way of saying WE HEARD THE FANS!! having the Washington on the away jersey will take some getting use to… I shall miss the DC+Basketball logo…. I thought that would at least stay the same…

Notice how the wizard-guy logo still appears as a part of the scheme, but can be seen NO WHERE other than on the logo page on the website…

After I watched the video, I started loving it….

Honestly

I reallyyyyyy didn’t like them when I first saw them. Since then, they’ve began to grow on me and I really love the font in particular. I rated them an 8 from what was maybe about a 5 at first. Can’t wait to see them in action!

by qthaballa on May 11, 2011 2:56 AM EDT reply actions

I was delighted with the return of the hands from the old Bullets logo !

It is a simple, direct, unambiguous design… unlike the overwrought Wizard we have had to put up with for too long.

Buying One

it says preliminary ship date is 10/1 – has anyone ordered a jersey yet?

I ordered a shirt and it said it was backordered until 6/15

You really think the team would of had this stuff made up and ready to roll out.

MONUMENT

watched the presentation on the DVR. i don’t think its a coincidence that the new design via “Monumental sports” group features the Wash Monument and the ball logo resembles the star structure of their logo. its a re-branding of ownership almost as much as re-branding to the past.

by Jheiser3 on May 11, 2011 10:45 AM EDT reply actions

I like how they intended to bring back what made the team unique to begin with

If nothing else, the Bullets always had the most unique jerseys in the game. The new jerseys help to bring that back. I like the home jersey alot, but not sure about all that red on the road jerseys. Would have liked it better if the top AND bottom were blue with the red and white colors in the middle section of the jersey along with blue shorts. That’s just this man’s opinion however…
