Will this NBA Draft be as bad as the 2001 NBA Draft (Kwame Brown Draft)?

Kwame Brown, Eddie Curry, Eddie Griffin, Desagan Diop and Rodney White. 5 of the  Top 10 picks of the 2001 NBA Draft that were just absolute BUSTS. This draft is said to be a very mediocre draft. At my count only 13 out of the 28 First Round Draft picks from 2001 did anything in the NBA. It produced exceptional players in Gasol, Joe Johnson, Gerald Wallace and Zach Randolph, but 15 of the rest of the first round picks did not make it. The 2nd round produced Gilbert, Okur, an OK backup in Bobby Simmons and 24 flat out BUMS.

So before we think about passing on a Brandon Knight if we end up with the 4th pick to take a need position player such as Vesely or the Lithuania player we should ask ourselves if we will be drafting the next  Eddie Griffin or Rodney White.

My feeling is in a very weak draft you take the highest rated player on your board and you don't worry about position. You can always trade a talented point guard later. If a miracle happens and Derrick Williams falls on our lap then Alleluia, otherwise just take the best dang player. If 2001 is the comparrison for this draft then we have a 20% chance to land an all star with our first pick and a 50% chance that our pick will be a BUM.
