Around SBN: What If This Is It For The Celtics? End Of An Era Looming

Does this mean he won't enter the draft? Does his stock drop? Discuss.

His stock drops definitely.

Jones only took over games at Baylor for only about 3 games, I was hoping to see if he would take over when tournament time comes…oh well.

…now on to Sullinger.

TNT should've treated Lebron's return to Cleveland game like 2k11 and cut the game off after the Cavs were down by 30. lol

this is the NBA

stock doesn’t drop because someone gave your mom short terms loans years ago. As soon as he runs, jumps and dribbles around chairs they will slobber all over him again.

Jones didn't dominate at Baylor therefore since he is a boom or bust player, scouts are now going to question his ability to dominate in the league.

For a number one overall pick averaging 14 pts and 7 rbs per game is pretty risky.

Yeah - but some GM is going to take that risk....

He’s really the only guy in the draft with Super Star potential…. Someone in the top 3 picks will go for the Home Run….

Cleveland needs wings – and definitely needs a Super Star player to build around…
Minnesota needs wings –
The Kings could certainly use an upgrade over Caspi – they like taking gambles (Cousins)…
And the Wizards might take a chance as well…. He is, after all, just the kind of player Ernie Grunfeld used to covet…. (Tall, long, athletic, jump out of the gym, huge upside, modest actual College production)…..

He's "delightfully cranky"

I used to have super powers until my psychiatrist took them away.

Draftexpress is the most credible scouting site IMO...and they are projecting him as a SF.

I wonder what the word is around the league…If he puts some muscle on he can turn himself into a better version of Lamar Odom…which would be pretty damn fun to watch.

I've been going to different websites

like NBADraft.net, and they now have him going #8 to the Clippers pick. I think his stock is falling a bit in some people’s eyes. But I hope we can somehow get another top 10 pick. One scenario I can see this happening in is if we were to win the lottery. It’s been said that Cleveland has their eye on Kyrie Irving, so they would probably want to trade up to make sure they get him. I would trade the #1 pick for Cleveland’s pick and the Clippers pick. With Cleveland’s pick, I would take Enes Kanter. With the Clippers pick, I would take P. Jones, but if he isn’t available, I would take Barnes.

Yeah - that's my "dream" scenario

Wiz win the Lottery, and get the #1 pick….

Wiz trade #1 & Atlanta’s pick to Cleveland for their pick & the Clippers pick (both Lottery picks)..

Then pick Kanter/Sullinger and then Perry Jones/Terrence Jones/Harrison Barnes
and with their second round pick, select PG Tyshawn Taylor (needs a jump shot and needs to cut down on turn overs, but he’s a lock-down defender, good ball handler and good facilitator)… Would be a nice pick up as a back-up for John Wall.

depth chart
John Wall , Veteran minimum , Tyshawn Taylor
Nick Young , Jordan Crawford
Rashard Lewis, Maurice Evans, Perry Jones
Andray Blatche, Trevor Booker, Kevin Seraphin
Enes Kanter, JaVale McGee, Hamaday Ndiaye

Inside scoring (Kanter, Booker), Outside scoring (Young, Lewis, Blatche)….
Rebounding (Kanter, Booker, Seraphin)
Interior Defense (Kanter, Booker, Seraphin)
Perimeter Defense (Young, Wall, Lewis)
Excellent Role players (Mo Evans, Booker, McGee, Crawford)

That team would still lose a lot of games next year – but they would be entertaining – and once they had played together – and the Rookies and Sophomores got some experience (Kanter, Perry Jones, Seraphin, Booker, Crawford)… they could come together into a pretty nice team….. Contend in 2013
