I was talking to a friend about who we should draft with our lottery pick. First, we can already rule out Kyrie Irving, well... for obvious reasons. Then I thought of Perry Jones who's gotten a lot of buzz so my friend and I checked out his draft profile and it really scared us that they said he was "passive." Another thing is that he also really is more of a guard stuck in a freakishly athletic 6'11 PF's body.
So who else is there?
My friend thought of Jared Sullinger. I am a fan of him and I think he'll be a good PF in the NBA but his height still raises some doubts in my mind. Not to mention, there has also been talks about "conditioning issues." But everything I've seen about him makes him seem like a great kid.
I didn't say anything about Kanter because I don't anything about him but I'd love to find out more.
And I didn't talk about Harrison Barnes because he's really slipped (although he's been better recently). Barnes has the ability to be the #1 pick but he really hasn't shown it enough throughout the whole season
I hope no one gets me wrong, I'm not saying that all these players are not worthy of being drafted high. I just thought I'd share some insight on a couple red flags. And my personal pick would be Derrick Williams.
