Emir Preldzic with two blocks on Rafa Martinez of Power E. Valencia in EuroLeague play.
Washington obtained the NBA rights to european star Emir Preldzic in the Antawn Jamison trade with Cleveland. The 6'9" Small Forward recently signed an extension with his current club (Fenerbahce Ulker). The contract includes a buy-out clause in case Preldzic wants to play in the NBA. Recently, Preldzic has been playing more minutes in the Top-16 playoffs for Fenerbache Ulker, averaging over 22 minutes a game with 12.3 points on 60% shooting, with 3.8 rebounds and 3 assists per game. But perhaps the reason he is playing more minutes is because of his improved defense, as illustrated in this video.

Nice
But not ready to contribute
For his sake, he should stay there for now
I disagree...
I’d like to see him on the Wizards Summer League team before I make a determination like that… I’ve seen some Fenerbahce-Ulker games this year, and Preldzic has been stellar… Arguably the best player on the team. He almost acts like the Point Guard, although he’s playing SF. He’s got fabulous ball handling skills – advanced ball handling skills – as good as most NBA Point Guards. He’s also an excellent passer. In two of the games, he shot the ball lights out… the others, not so good. But his jump shot looks mechanically sound…. and he’s shooting 48% from the floor and 42% from 3. He’s a very good rebounder for a wing.
If he could get his shot down consistently, I could see him as a Tony Kukoc type player.
Anyway – I wouldn’t be so quick to dismiss him… Like I said, I’d like to see him compete against some NBA talent in the Summer League to get a better gauge on him.
By the way, which games did you watch?
He's "delightfully cranky"
I used to have super powers until my psychiatrist took them away.
