Around SBN: Ray Allen Fighting Age, Injury And His New Role

The Celtics are looking for a backup to Paul Pierce and the candidates are Cleveland's Anthony Parker, who is playing out an expiring contract, New York's Roger Mason, Washington's Josh Howard and perhaps Indiana's Dahntay Jones.

Boston Globe. Remember, Howard would have to approve the trade because he is on his second one-year contract.

Josh would probably ok the trade...

It is a reasonable chance for him to get a ring. Plus at this point the Knicks may actually need Mason. Indiana, meanwhile, is still in the playoff hunt.

The question is what would the Wiz get in return? I would be OK with Harangody (he is not destined to be more than a role player, but he is an overachiever and we could use the front line toughness he brings) plus the Celtics #1 pick.

Who wouldn't OK a trade from the Wiz to the C's?

A 1st rounder should be a necessity. I haven’t seen Harangody play much in a couple of years but I could see him turning into a Jared Dudley type of player. Wouldn’t be too bad.

salaries tough to match

Howard makes 3M. No one Boston would give up matches.

I was thinking along the lines of Avery Bradley and cash.

Yeah, true

Could do Avery and Semih, ditch the cash, though not sure Boston goes for that.

I want Erden or Bradley!!!

TNT should've treated Lebron's return to Cleveland game like 2k11 and cut the game off after the Cavs were down by 30. lol

A first round pick would be nice

I don’t think they’d give up Bradley since they seem high on him, plus they need Erden. The 28th or 29th pick in the draft actually sounds like a really good deal for us considering this guy isn’t very good and isn’t part of our long term plans.

Boston won't give up Erden

He is a crucial part of their big man depth with Shaq missing so much time and Jermaine a big question mark for the rest of the season.

I don’t see why anyone would not want to give up Howard for a draft pick. That’s exactly the type of move this team should be making, in my opinion. Howard isn’t bringing anything to the table for this team at this point.

Had this trade Idea but maybe we could make it threeway trade for someone to take Nate or Oneals contract
here it is

Boston IN
Kirk Hinrich – Defensive/scoring Combo Gaurd vet
Josh Howard – Defence/Scoring SF vet
Boston OUT
Jermaine O’Neal
Nate Robinson
Avery Bradley
2011 1st

Washington IN
Jermaine O’Neal – Experienced Vet Could serve as a bigman player/coach
Nate Robinson – Good spark off the bench Combo guard
Avery Bradley – Young Player (19th 2010)
2011 Boston 1st – 30th – 27th overall pick
Washington OUT
Kirk Hinrich
Josh Howard

Boston would get two players that would fit right on to there style of play.
this could help them make there run at a title this year and next much more easier

For Us this trade would just break Kirks contract about in Half with Oneals and Nate contracts
It would snag us Two young assets with Avery and Bostons pick to use in future trades
Oneal could prove to be a good player/coach for Blatche n McGee

by eltacoman on Feb 22, 2011 4:16 PM EST reply actions

we could probly get them to Give us Erden also Kirk n Howard would put them even more over the top for this years Finals

by eltacoman on Feb 22, 2011 4:20 PM EST up reply actions

In both scenarios

Boston is giving up a ton for a backup SF

by returnofswagger on Feb 22, 2011 7:03 PM EST up reply actions

yep

all they want is a reserve wing, not a
mega player deal… for a reserve wing.
