Wizards Vs. Magic: Rashard Lewis out, Nick Young probable
A couple quick injury updates before tomorrow's Wizards-Magic game (because it's our favorite topic!), via Michael Lee of the Washington Post.
- Rashard Lewis will sit out again and get a head start on the rest he'll get at this weekend's All-Star Break. That means he won't play in his return to Orlando. The good news for him is he will be able to see the Magic continue to place him on billboards outside their arena.
- Nick Young sat out with a knee injury he apparently suffered against the Cavaliers, but he's going to try to play on Wednesday. Hence, "probable." At this point, there's no need for Young to practice if he isn't 100 percent healthy, so I'm cool with it all. He's also pretty durable anyway. Then again, with this team, you never know.

What’s with Rashard still being on the Magic’s billboards?

Including the All-Star break
we’ll have only played 5 games in 3 weeks…definitely looking forward to seeing all those injuries get healed up

Yeah - It will be nice to see what the Wizards can do with a full, healthy line up
He's "delightfully cranky"
I used to have super powers until my psychiatrist took them away.
Well, we hope it will be nice to see... ;)
I always look forward to that stretch. I also kind of dread tonight’s game and the potential for early vacationitis setting in.
It seems like we've been saying that since 2006...

This IS an important game...
not in terms of the standings, but psychologically…
It would be nice to beat Orlando in their shiny new house going into the All-Star Break.
A win here would establish that this Wizards team is ready to take on a serious spoiler role for the rest of this season. That I think is the thing Ted Leonsis had in mind when he said he wanted the Wizards to be a team that played hard and be known as someone that opponents really did not want to play against.
SO:
John Wall, go out there and prove that you are already, in your rookie year, a better PG than either Nelson or Arenas… because you ARE.
Nick Young, go out there and remind Jason Richardson that he is WAY past his prime.
Andray Blatche, let the world know you are far superior offensively to Brandon Bass or Earl Clark and put the clamps on Ryan.
Josh Howard, remind the Turk what a really good SF looks like.
Kirk, show JJ why Jayhawks are better than Dookies any day.
JaVale, Trevor, Kevin… throw some different looks and constant enegry at Dwight Howard. He is a terrific player but he has no back-up. Wear him down and beat him in the end.
That last point is the stickler though
I was nodding along until the end. If Howard is ever going off for 60 points in a game, it’s going to be against a team like the Wizards. The only way the Wizards win is if Howard has a sub-par game – maybe gets early foul trouble. Without Howard, I think the Wiz match up well. But saying “without Howard” is like saying “aside from that, how did you enjoy the play, Mrs. Lincoln?”

Well we know how that went…. ;-)
