Why throw the kitchen sink at Orlando...no one else is.
I don't know what all of the details are surrounding the trade offers for Dwight Howard, but if he would resign with the Wizards, I think the Wizards offer would be able to include better than "no knees" Bynum or "too old" Gasol. The Nets offer would be Brooke Lopez and picks mainly plus relief or Hedo's contract right?
An offer of Crawford/Young, Blatche, McGee and two picks seems like a better offer than any of that. IMO
Granted it's not a lot for Howard, but who's throwing around insane offers? I may be crazy on this one and everyone can disagree, but weren't people just drooling over McGee and his athleticism? Crawford isn't a studd, but he's better than just about anyone on the current roster because he has a ceiling and their entire roster has reached theirs (maybe not Reddick) or you could offer young after he resigns. Blatche is Blatche, but with that package it's worth a try if I'm Orlando and all I'm getting from everyone else is one player who may be a cornerstone. I'm more of a football guy, so maybe I'm missing something.
Heck, wave Lewis and you have a spot for Hedo. The Wiz would have a solid team with depth and not be gutted like all of the other rosters. Thoughts?

Reports are saying that Chicago
is telling Orlando – “pick 3”…. and offering anyone and everyone on their roster EXCEPT Derrick Rose…
That means Orlando could end up with Noah, Asik and Taj Gibson…
or Deng, Noah and Gibson
Kyle Korver and Ronnie Brewer are both essentially expiring contracts (their deals are non-guaranteed for 2012-2013)…. so they can offer some salary relief… They could also take back a bad contract , like Turkoglu…
So Deng, Korver, Brewer, Noah, Taj Gibson, + Chicago’s 1st round pick
for
Dwight Howard + Hedo Turkoglu
Point is, that’s a better package TALENT wise than the Wizards could offer….
I used to have super powers until my psychiatrist took them away.
Depending on what direction Otis SMith wants to point his team in
There is no chance we match that.

Both teams would win in that situation
Chicago would still need a backup center/power forward (Chuck Hayes could play both roles), but some combination of Korver, Brewer, and a veteran free agent like TMac and/or Grant Hill could slide into Deng’s slot. Their perimeter defense would suffer, but having Dwight Howard behind you makes anyone respectable. Turkoglu would work as their sixth man or their starting 3, too. Orlando wouldn’t even be that bad if they could just get a wing scorer or someone like Nash to come and create for all of their shooters. A third team would need to be involved to make the money work, though, maybe someone like Minnesota or Milwaukee.

Wow, if Chicago’s serious, that would be tough for almost any team to match! Wouldn’t it be interesting if Orlando forced Chicago to take Arenas’s contract instead of Turkoglu’s…and then the Bulls would have a pretty awkward looking team until they straightened it out. For example, Howard and Boozer might get in each other’s way on the floor; Arenas would play the 2 guard I guess…but Chicago has to do it if Orlando would take it!
Doesn't make sense
There is pretty much no point in them forcing Arenas on any team that doesn’t want him. Why fight a team to take Arenas, and then just amnesty Turkoglu? It’s practically the same thing.

Gil’s contract is almost twice as much as Turk’s…not the same at all. I’d rather (if Orlando) trade Gil and amnesty Turk.
Yeah but its exactly the same to Orlando
To trade Turkoglu and amnesty Gil or do it the other way around. And it will be 50x easier to trade Turk. So explain why they would offer that much worse of a deal by including Gil, instead of just amnestying him…

I’m assuming the owner cares about the millions out of his wallet…you still have to pay even if you amnesty…

Arenas might be hard to take salary cap wise
I don’t know the exact numbers so I can’t say but I’m pretty sure if Orlando wants to throw in Arenas they have to take back Boozer to match the salaries.

I think the consensus is a lot of teams are telling the Magic to "pick three"

I could be wrong but
I think we could take back more salary if we are under the cap.

Report: Lakers Want Dwight Howard AND Chris Paul
Who won? Who lost? Who cares?! The NBA is Back!
David Aldridge
Report: I want my wife and Eva Mendes, but...
No way it happens for the same reasons. There is nothing I can give to my wife that would make her buy into that deal, much like the Lakers have nothing to offer for both Howard and Paul.

I dunno man... CP3 and D12 might force their current teams to accept it or be left with nothing
All thanks to the players insisting on the sign and trade being included in the new CBA.
Bynum+Odom for Howard+ and Pau, Darius Morris, Devin Ebanks, Derrick Carracter+2picks to the Hornets for Pau. I can see it happening and I see them adding Battier ore some such as well.

I think if Paul forces his hand it won't be to the Lakers.
He wants to go to NY and the Hornets have much better offers from GS and the Clippers. If I’m CP3….I would go to the Clippers and dish to BG ALL DAY!
Redskins @RGIII - 2012
Agreed
Since I believe CP3 isn’t stupid, I think he’s ultimately going to go to the Clippers… and they may even sign Tyson Chandler… Chris Paul, Eric Gordon, I don’t care who you are small forward, Blake Griffin, Tyson Chandler… how does that feel Miami Superfags!!
