Two trades to consider

I agree with the consensus that it is time to cut our losses and try to move AB. The trouble obviously is his value will likely continue to decline and unless you package him with Javale there will be few if any takers. These proposed trades will likely make a long season even longer but it may help right the ship for the long term. Here are two possible moves that I'd like Ted to consider.

The first proposed trade is with Houston. I'd package JV and AB for Patrick Patterson, Chase Budinger, and the 2 #1s they are holding in next years draft. I understand they will likely be mid round picks but all we are getting is diminishing returns for AB. While JV continues to grow I don't have a good feeling he will ever be the dominant 5 some on this board envision him to be. From Houston's standpoint they missed out on Gasol and Nene, and are not on D12s short list of teams he would like to be traded to. Scola and Dalembert are serviceable but they are thin upfront and may be inclined to makle a deal if they see JV as a possible long term answer.

The second proposed trade I'd consider is with Charlotte. Normally I'd be loathe to trade in the conference let alone the division but when you are going nowhere you need to consider all options. I'll also need a ruling from the trade experts on the board if this is even permissible.

This trade would package AB & JV for Tyrus Thomas and the unprotected #1 in 2012. The issue with this trade may be the number 1. Charlotte had already sent it to Chicago as a protected top 14 in 2012 and top 12 in 2013. In fact it is protected all the way through 2015. Therefore I'm not sure if it can be traded a second time. TT is finally putting it together so we get back a solid big and what undoubtably will be a high pick in 2012 to go along with our own. Whether Charlotte is willing to move forward and trade the pick is only how they envision the future growth of JV.

Both these trades will hobble us the rest of this year but where are we going anyway? They bring back solid players and #1 picks which is the only way I see this team growing in the future. We have JW, Singleton, Booker, and hopefully Vesely as the solid core (sorry I am not as high on Jordon Crawford as many are here) plus any additions we can make. Here is a proposed way to jump start the rebuild.
