Cap Management Strategy

Was hoping someone could help me understand what the ultimate goal of the Wizards salary cap strategy is going forward. Obviously, it seems like we are well positioned to have options in 2012 and 2013. However, what are the variables to consider? For example:

  • Rashard Lewis- should the goal be to trade him at the deadline this year? Next Summer? What does the non-guaranteed part of his contract really mean to the Wizards if he stays on the books, etc.
  • How much cap room should be set aside for Javale and (perhaps) Nick going into next year? What will that do to our salary cap flexibility?
I guess what I am asking for is some insight into the best cap management strategy (with our own pieces- ultimately leading to us signing missing pieces). The reason I turn to BF is that the community is so well informed on both player performance and cap management (and their interrelationship). Hope someone can help with both the rationale and the timeline of expected moves over the coming years. Thanks...
