John Wall comes in at 4 on this list. What do you guys think? Is John one of the top 5 athletes in the NBA?

Maybe. Hard to know what he’s capable after seeing him play hurt for the majority of last season. He’s looked unreal in the summer highlights, and his highschool highlights though. So if that’s really him, yes.

McGee should be on that list though. He’s 7’1+ and agile. That’s stupid.

yeah I agree JaVale could definitely be an honorable mention at least, crazy athleticism.

I think his spot is warranted

He’s arguably the fastest guy w/ the ball in the league, and is a quick, explosive leaper. His 1st step in the half-court isn’t that great though.

To be fair though....

the one thing that could limit your first step in the half court is a leg injury – - – especially knee and foot injuries…. And as we all know, John was playing almost the entire year last year with knee and foot injuries…

I used to have super powers until my psychiatrist took them away.

damn quick reply button....

Wall was, when needed, arguably one of the best at getting past his man at Kentucky… and his first step was awesome..

Remember – these were some of the things said about John Wall as a High School Senior and as a Freshman at Kentucky:

“… a magnificent job of picking apart the defense with his ridiculous first step

“…accelerate to the hoop quickly using his impressive first step.”

“…incredibly fast in the open floor, showing a super explosive first step,”

“…first step blow by ability is absolutely jaw dropping

“…almost impossible to stop because of his great first step

So while we, as Wizards fans, may not have seen an impressive first step LAST YEAR – be assured that when healthy, John Wall has that super explosive first step needed to get by absolutely anyone in the NBA…

Guys like Rose and even Teague have a much better 1st step than Wall

Wall has a high center of gravity, which limits his quickness a bit. If he would just bend at the waist a little more, he would be much more effective as a slasher in the half court. Another reason for this is that he doesn’t have a very tight handle, so it’s harder for him to get into the lane.
