I believe it was Ric Bucher who a couple days ago posted the scenarios that the NBA will take under consideration for the 2012 Draft Lottery if the entire season is lost. The three under consideration were replaying the 2011 lottery (the least likely, according to the sources), a 30-team lottery based on the aggregate records of the last 5 seasons, and a 30-team lottery based on the aggregate records of the last 3 seasons.
I haven't looked up aggregate records for all other teams, (if someone wants to take the time or knows an easy source for it that'd be cool) but here are our records from the past 5 seasons, per Wikipedia...
|2006–07||Eastern||Southeast||2nd||41||41||.500||Lost First Round (Cleveland) 4-0|
|2007–08||Eastern||Southeast||2nd||43||39||.524||Lost First Round (Cleveland) 4-2|
Obviously, it would be quite beneficial for us if they chose the aggregate of the past THREE seasons as opposed to FIVE. While the 2 seasons hovering around .500 may not sway our ping pong balls greatly but could be crucial as we continue to build.
Anyway, I hope the season starts soon but if not here's at least something to think on.
