So I went to the Josh Howard Foundation game earlier tonight. Funny enough, there was 5 Wizards in attendance, including John Wall, Nick Young, Andray Blatche, Trevor Booker and Hamady N'Diaye. It almost felt like OD, yet sadly it wasn't.
Trevor Booker did not play, presumably because of his injury; but he did coach the Blue team, which included Nick Young and Andray Blatche. Notably, he was the winning coach.
John Wall did not play either, although he was on the bench as part of Josh Howard's White team. I sat right behind him and at one point asked him why he wasn't playing and he begrudgingly mumbled that he was "resting". I'm not sure from what, but I hope he's healthy.
I can't lie, Wall not playing was a disappointment, as I wanted to see his speed in person. But hey, at least we got a last minute KD addition.
Nick Young is still growing the fro! He had some nice moves throughout the game, including some of the nicest dunks of the night. But he also might have missed the most dunks tonight.
Andray Blatche looked to be in really good shape. No more beer belly guys! He was hustling up and down he court - although his jump shot was just not there tonight. What most caught my eye was his passing, as he made some pretty nice dishes throughout the game. He also had a few nice drives with strong finishes.
Hamady looked good defensively in spurts, as he had a few nice blocks and steals. But offensively, he still seems very raw and honestly did not get many touches on that end. Mostly because Damon Jones (yes, that Damon Jones) was a BALLHOG shooter ;)
Anyways, not much... but hey, we're locked out! Any update is better than no update.
