I was listening to the radio this morning and I was just amazed. I actually heard a very intelligent thought come from the Sports Junkies on 106.7.

I think it was EB who said that the whole problem was that Billy Hunter was just so ill prepared for this lockout. He made a comparrison between the NFLPA's DeMaurice Smith and the NBA's Billy Hunter. The season before the lockout Smith went to visit all the teams. He had them all sign their Decertification Forms. They were ready. The minute the NFL locked the players out "BAM" the decertification process was started. All the votes were in and now the serious negotiations can start. How many NFL games were missed? How many paychecks for players were missed? A BIG FAT ZERO.

Enter Billy Hunter. He knows July 1 is coming. DDay. The Owners lock the players out. There is no plan. Throughout the summer Agents are squabbling with the Union Leaders. Super Agents are talking about overthrowing the Union's Director. When progress was made in October what does Billy Hunter do? He brings in a few superstar players, WHO WERE NEVER PART OF THE PROCESS, to the meetings with the owners. Dwayne Wade yells at the Commissioner. Kevin Garnett declares that the Players will not give one penny under 57%. What a mess.

It's now November 10 and I did not get to see my Wizards play the Miami Heat last week. That sucks. Players so far will miss 2 Paychecks and more are coming.

Even if they settle right now there is alot of damage that did not have to be. If Billy Hunter would have followed the lead of the NFL I am convinced that we would be watching John Wall and my Wizards running up and down the court in the Verizon Center.
