I just listened to David Sterns interview with Mike and Mike in the morning.
My worst fear on why the lockout is still on has come true according to the Commissioner.
I have said in the past that there can be no deal until Billy Hunter and the Executive Committee comes to terms with the Super Agents. Stern just admitted that Arn Tellem is against the players giving up any concessions to the NBA Owners. He said that when you represent Superstars it is in those players interest to not have a Union. Tellem is doing all that he can to get rid of the Union. The 5 Superstar Agents are very powerful with the players as we all know.
The Union needs to get their act together and figure out what do they want to do.
In my humble opinion, Billy Hunter made a drastic mistake of inviting the Superstars to the bargaining table at the last minute. They brougth chaos and confusion. Word was that the owners and executive committee were in agreement of a 50/50 split but when KG and the Big boys showed up they screwed everything up, especially KG declaring that the players were not going to give up "ANYTHING." In the past it was said that the owners, who a portion of them do not even want to give the players a 50/50 split, to an agreement, BUT the players executive committee retreated and said they could not do it now.
It is easy to blame the owners but the Unions house is in disaray because they just don't know what the heck they want.
The time for Billy Hunter to be the MAN is now. He needs to pull the Superstars, Midlevel, and Rank and File players and come to an agreement, ASAP so that we can watch our beloved NBA again.
