I think this is a interesting debate because right now, after hearing some quotes by players and Flip, it sounds like their are still hopes and motivation to make that 8th and final playoff spot. We all want to see wins and continue the growth of our players but is this team ready for a 1st round exit and the loss of a potential key piece in the lottery?
I do think there is an advantage for a young team to make the playoffs. They gain that hunger that will always want them to get back and not settle for anything less than they achieved the previous year. But it could be better in the long term if we finish outside the playoffs and are able to draft that SF or PF we all would like our team to get. I'm not saying they need to just go out there and throw games.. and if they can win that many games then we have to say they are playing better basketball and there's nothing wrong with that.
Its hard to believe that a team this far in the season that can't win a road game would make the playoffs but this is the Eastern Conference and it's open for discussion. So what does everyone think the best case scenario is: make the playoffs and get blown out in the 1st round?? or get a top pick in the draft to add to our core and possibly be in better shape in a couple years?
