Links: Nick Young for Most Improved?

Today's hot reads:

  • John Hollinger said that Nick Young is "making a case" for getting more love in the Most Improved Player race in one of his chats.  This should make Rook happy.  [ESPN]
  • John Wall says he wants to learn how to shoot a floater like Tony Parker.  Given the amount of times he hits the deck, that's a good thing to work on. [Sam Chamberlain, TBD]
  • Michael Lee really lit into the Wizards after last night's loss. [Wizards Insider]
  • Who really deserves blame for the 20-game road losing streak? [Rashad Mobley for DCIst]
  • More on the advice Brandon Jennings is giving John Wall. [Wizards Insider]
  • The Wizards get a D for the season, and Flip Saunders gets a C-, on this midseason report card.  Come on, guys.  What did you expect?  [NBA.com]
  • A recap of last night's game from the Bucks' perspective. [Brew Hoop]
  • These screenshots tell the whole story. [Truth About It]
  • Chick Hernandez of CSN isn't cutting his hair until the Wizards win a road game.  Funny gimmick, but let's be honest: it's easier to do this when you start off bald. [Steinberg]
  • The one good thing that came out of last night: Andray Blatche made Drew Gooden look silly.  Here's the .gif. [@WizardsExtreme]
  • Stan Van Gundy on Gilbert Arenas' struggles: "I'm harder on point guards than anyone else. He's not playing with a great deal of enthusiasm. He's not enjoying playing. And I'm a big reason." More proof that your attitude can sometimes carry over to your new team. [Fanhouse]
  • I don't think there's any chance Mike Miller can be the fourth "Heatle," but man, Kevin Arnovitz can write. [Heat Index]
  • This Jeff Ruland card is tremendous, just tremendous. [SB Nation]
  • Self-promo alert: I wrote a love letter to the Clippers' Eric Gordon on SBNation.com today.  Check it out here

Gilbert not happy in Orlando?

Well, wasn’t he praised in Orlando because of his defense not too long ago?

"Bullets Forever" is a much better name than "Brew Hope"

I mean, why not Fear the Deer? But I appreciated this bit of insight:

“But for all of their physical tools (I’m staring at you, Andray Blatche, and glancing at you, Javale McGee) the Wizards totally lacked awareness, ingenuity, and harmony. Flip Saunders is dealing with some real pieces of work.”

Tell us about it.

I might have to dial back my Hollinger hate...
If the Wizards find a way to finally win a road game, is there any chance they make a run at that 8th seed in the east? It seems like it only takes a few wins in a row to get right back in that race.

John Hollinger
Sorry, too far gone. They’re not only 4.5 games back but also have to pass five teams. It ain’t happening. But Nick Young is making a real case for MIP votes. And I find it weirdly entertaining to watch Kirk Hinrich constantly fiddle with his glasses.

At least John is one National writer that actually watches games….(Hey Tony, have you EVER watched a Wizards game?)…..

He's "delightfully cranky"

I used to have super powers until my psychiatrist took them away.

and

I agree with him that the Wiz are too far gone to even think about a Playoff run…

Ugh… did I actually agree with John Hollinger……………… twice?

I agree

Yea, while we are 4.5 games back for 8th, we are also 4.5 games back from being the worst team in the league

Blatche gets some Simmons' love

Simmons gives his Parole Officer a reserve spot on the Easter Conference All-Star team.
