4 Team Trade
My trade proposal after the jump to a.Get John Wall more minutes b. Finally dump Gilbert Arenas and c.Create a large sum of cap space next year to lure free agents.
4 Team Trade
Charlotte:
Trade:Diaw, Dampier
Recieve:Hinrich, Martin
Why: They're basically just trading Diaw for their solution at PG and new PF and make their defense even stronger with a lineup of Hinrich, Jackson, Wallace, Thomas, Martin.
Trade:Arenas, Hinrich
Recieve:Turiaf, Curry, Smith, Diaw
Why:They trade two big contracts that would only take Walls minutes and they get 3 solid bench guys(maybe starters) and 4 expiring contracts. They will have only Blatche, Booker, Wall, 2011 1st rounder and Seraphin on their 2011-2012 roster payroll so they will have enough to offer 2 max contracts(almost 3) to free agents and lure huge names to Washington next summer.
Trade:Martin, Smith
Recieve:Dampier
Why:After they trade Carmelo they will need to cut their ginormous payroll and this goes a huge way towards that by sending out disgruntled Smith and Martins expiring contract for Dampier whom they waive immediately and save around 20 million immediately(worth much more cause they're over the cap).
Trade:Curry, Turiaf
Recieve:Arenas
Why:They get their new flashy PG to feed Amare and finally send out Curry with Turiaf.
There would possibly be some draft picks involved too(like Denver giving up some) and Cash Considerations here and there but this is what I came up with. Share your comments below.
Basically this trade for the Wizards is to be a Contender in 2012 with a young nucleus and 2huge stars added through free-agency. The roster before adding the other stars:
Wall
Young
Thornton
Blatche
McGee
That alone is a atleast a 30 win team and then when you add in 2 All-Stars you have a Legit Contender plus the top 5 lottery pick this year and you're looking at the most improved team in 2012.
This represents the view of the user who wrote the FanPost, and not the entire Bullets Forever community. We're a place of many opinions, not just one.

I don't think the Knicks would do it
They just invested pretty heavily in Raymond Felton, someone would need to take him off their hands. I don’t know if Gil is a D’Antoni point guard, too, he’s not exactly a pass first guy and I don’t know that he really excels at the pick and roll.

Felton is ok
But i dint think they expect him to be there long term solution. There are still a ton of rumors about Tony Parker or steve Nash heading to NY, Gilbert may be a possibility.
But This trade is a little to NBA liveish for me, I don’t see it happening

Agree, but if it is ever going to happen it has to involve multiple teams
We just dont have the pieces to make an attractive package on our own i guess

I just want to see Arenas and Wall together first
even more then dumping Arenas’s contract on someone
This is clearly not the direction of team managment.
Why does everyone keep spending so much time and energy thinking up trades that are contrary to the clear, consistent direction the team is taking?
