Now we can officially accept the long haul plan

Ever since the Wizards got the No. 1 pick in the draft, there has been some reluctance to support staying out of the Free Agent market and sticking to the long-term plan to build a winner with young talent. Well, I think it's safe to say now with the construction of a Super Team in Miami, we can now fully embrace the long view of how to build a contender.

Wade, James and Bosh are all First Round picks and incredible talents. The Heat is probably going to dominate the East next year, and you still have Orlando, Boston and Chicago as far superior teams to the Wiz. Let's take our time and build it through the draft, even though it means losing a lot of games over the next two years.

Our goal is ultimately to win a championship, right? Well, that ain't gonna happen as long as you have to go through Miami in the East. We need at least two more lottery picks to plant the seeds of a real contender. Personally, I look forward to Witnessing the development of Wall, McGee, Booker and Blatche over the next couple of seasons, and I vow not to get pissed when they lose a lot.
