Howard added that Arenas is back on board ready to make amends.
"Gil has also been through a lot, and being able to see him in the summertime and see his work ethic, I know he's coming to play," Howard said. "Chip on his shoulder or not, I know the man is coming to play. I know I have a chip on my shoulder, too. Two guys like that on the court are going to be hard to stop."

Howard's chip is against the Mavs; but Arenas..
His chip is probably against the organization he’s playing for.
It’ll be interesting to see how Arenas adjusts this season and what his outlook is like. The business of not talking to the press last season (which happened long before the gun episode) – that was pretty weird.
huh?
He doesn’t have a chip on his shoulder with the team. It wasn’t the team that put the gun story out there. I think he would have a chip on his shoulder with the media, who already didn’t trust.
man we got 3 up and coming Allstars in Wall Blatche Mcgee and 2 not far off Allstars in Areanas n Howard
i think were going to win 20 more games next season and make the playoffs vs the heat or orlando or we might make the 6 spot and knock off the defending eastern confrense Champs Boston
GOO WIZARDZ
Yeah I was looking for something to smoke
What you got???
Seriously, our inside players are young, raw and most of them are skinny. Any team with a halfway decent offensive/defensive C/PF rotatation is gonna eat us for lunch. Not a bad thing right now, because its a rebuild and our frontcourt is chock full of potential, but we’re simply not good enough inside yet.
The chip on Arenas's sholder
is against the fans who no longer call him a superstar anymore, who say he’s lost it.
Which is probably going to lead to a lot of shot-jacking
I want him to get back to loving DC, everyone loves him when he’s playing.
Actually, one thing I’m sort of looking forward to is Gil completely unchained. Like, he’s never played as a pure shooting guard with a pass-first point guard/playmaker. Gil will basically be expected to be Ben Gordon or Jamal Crawford this year, not a combo guard, not a Chauncey-esque pass-first guard, not Larry Hughe’s reflection. All he has to do is score and ideally play solid defense, and he’s on a team that’s going to lack any other really solid shot-creator other than maybe Wall (rookie, when players are usually their least efficient) and Blatche (pretty inefficient and he excels at passing more than just scoring). If he’s healthy and all right, Gil could wind up scoring a ton of points.

I thought Blatche was an efficient scorer last year? (Stats guys???)
But anyway I am also looking forward to Gil being asked to exclusively do what he does best. When he knocks the rust off, he could be one of the best pure scorers in the league. I’m betting he will be looking to get Wall assists, and that will mean that he will at times look like a gunner. But if that’s his job (as established by the coaching staff), then I have no issues with it, unless he’s not effective in that role. And I see him at least giving effort on the defensive end, since he doesn’t have borderline superstardom to hide behind anymore.
And last, he’s going to log minutes at point guard (wall can’t play 48, and heinrich is mediocre as a facilitator), so we will also get to see him in a role more reminiscent of his role last year (in which he didn’t look fluid or comfortable, but still averaged 22/7). Gilbert Arenas is a helluva player. Even 80% of Gilbert Arenas is a helluva player.
