Knicks vs. Wizards: NBA Summer League game 5 open thread
Our all-star Summer League cast looks to go undefeated against the Knicks this afternoon. John Wall won't suit up, unfortunately. He finishes Summer League having averaged 23.5 points and 7.8 assists per game. Wowza.
JaVale McGee also won't play, according to Kyle. I guess both of those guys have proven everything they needed to prove. The Wizards will instead start Lester Hudson, Kevin Palmer, Cartier Martin, Trevor Booker and Hamady Ndiaye.
This is your final game thread. GO WIZARDS!

I like Booker's pump fake and drive
Unfortunately, I doubt anyone will go for the pump in the real league – he will need to prove he has a shot

Everyone is lookin good
Hamandy is getting nice blocks and dunks
Booker is getting shots dunks and strong rebounds
Randle is getting good passes
I really want to see Booker more involved in the offense
It is cool that he is still able to be effective w/o the ball though. Seems like they are really running him…picks on O and trapping on full court D
We got to sign Martin and Hudson
Maybe they won’t get much playing time…especially hudson, but I would like these guys to fill out the roster
Agreed

Thought he was talking w/ someone.
We need a backup point unless Hinrich and Arenas will be considered the backup pg

The best would be if Lebron showed up to play in the heat vs Cavs game next
I could see him pulling that move
A game without the dynamic duo is not as exciting
But Hamady and company are playing decent defense. H. does a good job of keeping opponents out of the paint.
Ok
There’s been some sloppy play. Booker’s offense is picking up – he has a good mid-range jumper. Hamady is a true post player – when he blocks someone out, he pushes them out of bounds, well away from the basket. Cartier, Palmer and Hudson have been sharing the scoring load.
At the hospital with new baby...
which means I can’t watch the game…love the comments, guys

Wow, Martin is usually so smart.
What is he doing?
I like how the announcers said, "Thankfully, overtime is only 2 minutes in summer league"
This has been ugly, especially in the 4th.
Is it crazy of me to think..
That 25 year old Cartier Martin still has enough room to grow to be a legitimate Three and D guy at the SF position? Or am I overestimating the guy based on summer league
he's got to be better than bobby simmons, right?
and bobby got paid and stuck around.
martin played a decent amount for charlotte a year ago, i think, and showed that he could at least score a little in real NBA games.

So who do we pick up from this summer league
I Like
(Wall, McGee, Booker) Obvious picks
Hudson
Martin
Ndiaye
(let the other go D-League sop the wizards could maybe use them later)
