Jump on the Kings bandwagon NOW!

I've been a fan of the Kings ever since Donte Greene was drafted by them(saw him play in HS a couple times...he's from MD)....and I was a fan of Cousins coming out of college....They were also my favorite western conference team during the Webber-Bibby days.

Star-divide

After just watching 2 games I'm willing to bet that Cousins will be a legit 20-10-4 allstar guy. Hit the game winner his second game in summer league...underrated vision and shot...his post moves are freakin beautiful. I know he's playing against summer league big men, but it will translate to the league.

I know Chris Webber is with me...he kept saying he doesn't want to be a "homer" and root for the Kings but its obvious he's a fan of Cousins too.

The kid is the real deal. I think he will be much better than Derrick Favors...

Whiteside was also a good steal for the Kings...the kid can block shots and has a soft touch around the hoop.

With Tyreke Evans, Cousins, Whiteside, Omri Casspi, Donte Greene, Samuel Dalembert, Jason Thompson....The Kings will definitely be back into the playoffs within a couple years. ...

I agree

they’ve been drafting well the last couple years. Their backcourt still needs a ton of work, but the frontcourt is possibly set with Cousins, Thompson, Brockman, Whiteside, Landry…Greene and Casspi are SFs. I think Nick Young would be a good fit for them.

I'm worried that Cousins will win the ROY this year

But I’m really not yet worried that Cousins will have a better career than Wall, it just seems like Cousins will be able to make more impact this season, well so far at least.

so many good rookies this year

but John Wall winning ROY is probably the best moment the Wizards can hope for next year.

I like Cousins and Thompson a lot, Whiteside's intriguing, and Landry works as a sixth man. Evans is ok

The thing about Evans is he seems to have a ton of off-court issues. If he doesn’t implode, he’ll probably be really good (not elite due to athleticism, but good). Thompson’s a perfect complement to Cousins, too, and Demarcus is going to be Bynum-like. Everyone else is just ok, though.

what "off court issues"?

The only incident that I know of was the drive-by shooting from high school in Philadelphia. Which was many years ago, and many paychecks ago. Isiah Thomas had similar problems growing up in Chicago, and he outgrew them once he saw the better life. The same can be said for The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

My biggest concern with Evans is his (sorry to use this cliche) “ball dominance”. He requires the ball in his hands for at least 8 seconds a possession in order to be effective. He puts his head down and just goes to the hoop. It can be effective, but only if you surroud him with efficient shooters and darn good rebounders.

Greene was drafted by Memphis, Not SacTown

He was then traded to Houston, before being traded to Sacramento as part of the Ron Artest to Houston deal.

I am also a big fan of the new look Kings. They have a great foundation in Evans, Cousins, Thompson and Casspi. They could have two consecutive ROY’s, with both being Callipari Guys, and I believe they’ll be able to build around those two for years to come. I really hope that we luck-out and pick up another promising lottery player next year to pair up with John.

Yeah, the Evans/Cousins combo is deadly

Jason Thompson has not impressed me at all however.

Omri Casspi is a likable player, but he needs to develop a better niche. Rather than trying to be a slasher/scorer, he should just focus on being a spot-up shooter and lock down defender to compliment Tyreke Evans.

The problem for Sacto are the Francisco Garcia & Beno Udrih contracts. They have $14 million tied up until 2014 for two players who play hard, but not well.

I am very excited to watch the Kings. If I were the Kings though, I would focus more on developing Cousins, Evans, Greene, and Caspi, regardless of the wins. If the Kings got 1 more high lottery pick next year, they could be dominant.

I was a big time Kings fan back in the day

When they had Bibby, Christie, Peja (my favorite player growing up) Webber, Divac, Jackson, Pollard and the greek god himself, Lawarence Funderburke (spelling?).

Definitely like what that team has done. What ever happened to Kevin Martin? I remember him being a damn good player a few years ago.
