I know we're theoretically stacked with Arenas, Hinrich, and Young logjamming the position, but with all three coming up in legitimate trade speculation I thought this warranted the thought.
J.J. Redick received a 3 year, $20 million offer from the Chicago which the Magic are expected to match. I figured on Boston overspending, but rumor was that they were interested in recovering Phoenix combo guard Leandro Barbosa (and could get him for a bag of beans from a luxury tax paying, cash conscious owner). I don't want either one. Redick is overrated after last year's playoffs and Barbosa doesn't fit at all.
Anthony Morrow signed an offer sheet with the Nets to the tune of $12 million over three years, which Golden State is only considering matching. That sounds like a steal to me...anyone agree? Kid is young and easily makes up for the outside threat we had in MM...
The Bulls have apparently locked up Kyle Korver for three years at reportedly $15 million. I had some interest in Korver, but if the Bulls sign Redick they'll have plenty of SG.
Rumors of a possible Arenas trade are running rampant, and if Chicago doesn't want to part with any more draft picks. I can't help noticing Deng's salary on top of either SG signing is close enough to Gil's salary to push those tired, persistent thoughts back to the forefront. Anyone think Chicago is preparing to make a move? Or are they just stockpiling depth for a playoff run?
