Ted Leonsis embraces the BOYD strategy

34

Ted Leonsis was interviewed on the John Thompson radio show. During a wide ranging discussion, Ted talked about the importance of the upcoming draft (14:08) He talked about how Gilbert Arenas is "psyched" about the changes occurring with the team; including the new Owner, #1 pick, a new environment, etc.. And Gilbert's "goals, the franchise's goals, and my goals are exactly the same". (13:30). Anyone that has read Ted's 10-point rebuilding plan knows how much Ted stresses that everyone has to be on the same page. For anyone who still thinks Ted might not understand the BOYD concept: He spoke about how the Wizards may want to use their Cap space this Summer. He said: "I will be honest with you though, I'd like to get more first round picks. I would rather use some of our cap space to take someone's player back and move up to get young assets now...." (1:45) Great news.....
