Wall of Sound: The John Wall Playlist
If the last week and a half has taught me anything, it's that you can never get too excited about having the top pick in the draft. This post still gets me giddy. I think I may have watched every John Wall highlight reel on YouTube. Yesterday, I got a check in the mail and I was as excited about the check having a Kentucky Wildcats logo on it as I was about the money (true story).
Needless to say, it's a good time to be a Wizards fan, and one of the best ways to express joy is through music. After the jump, you can check out a playlist of Wall-centered music to help you keep that excitement level up between now and June 24.
- Do the J-Wall - The Caronic
- Wall to Wall - Chirs Brown
- Another Brick In The Wall - Pink Floyd
- Game Over - Paul Wall
- Back Against the Wall - Cage the Elephant
- Walls - DC Talk

The ghost of strickland....
Listen, I’m super pumped to get John Wall, but I can’t stop thinking about what kind of influence Rod Strickland had on the future superstar’s mind in the one year they were together while strick was an assistant coach at Kentucky. Am I glad that it was just one year or am I nervous because it was any amount of time at all getting guidance from Rod Strickland, aka Mr. 3 DUIs and 0 playoff wins as a wizard, Mr. brawling in the Applebee’s parking lot on 9/11???….(and I’m pretty sure he got another DUI relatively recently in Kentucky)….obviously EG has to still take him, but c’mon, anyone else worried about that?
No
Because Derrick Rose and Tyreke Evans also got advice from Strickland, and they’ve turned out fine.
Strickland has apparently changed SOME of his evil ways...
As Mike pointed out, he did some very good coaching work with Rose and Evans for Calipari at Memphis… and I believe this was from both a technical and motivational perspective.
The Anti-Wall Playlist (please still draft him!!!!)
1. Paper Thin Walls – Modest Mouse
2. Climbing up the Walls – Radiohead
3. Weeping Wall – David Bowie
4. When You Go Out Walking – Blood on the Wall
5. Walls – Beck (Modern Guilt)
6. Up Against the Wall – Peter Bjorn and John
