The Dagger Report Returns To Talk John Wall Mania
I wasn't quite sure whether The Dagger Report, the joint Wizards podcast between Bullets Forever and Truth About It, was going to return, but the prospect of John Wall coming to DC upped the stakes a bit. So we're back, at least for now.
This week, Kyle was out of town, so I talked to Glenn Logan (Truzenzuzex) of SB Nation's fantastic Kentucky blog A Sea of Blue about everything John Wall. Nobody out there knows more about John Wall's game than Logan, so it was really great to get some perspective about our number one pick.
Among the topics we discussed:
- Wall's remarkable maturity for his age and how that will help him in the pros.
- Wall's tremendous end-to-end speed.
- The debate about whether Wall made his teammates good or his teammates made Wall good (hint: the former).
- How Wall compares to past John Calipari point guard like Derrick Rose and Tyreke Evans, as well as past Kentucky point guard Rajon Rondo.
- Wall's capacity to play with another ball-handler.
- Wall's inexperience running pick and roll.
- Wall's struggles on defense this season, despite his body.
- The John Wall dance
Songs used (and yes, they were deliberate):
- Pink Floyd - "Another Brick In The Wall (Part 2)"
- Cage the Elephant - "Back Against The Wall"
- Johnny Cash - "The Wall"
- Oasis - "Wonderwall"

ESPN insider
Has anyone with ESPN insider seen the new rumor out there? “A report says the Wizards don’t want Arenas around Wall.” I don’t have Insider so I was just wondering what the source is or the details of the article.
Great insight from Glenn… I’m really getting excited about a new Wizards team – running the floor…
I was especially giddy the way Glenn described Wall on the break – and I was imagining Wall leading the Wizards break with Arenas, Thornton, Nick Young and JaVale McGee …. They could be a scary good fast break team this year.
Bullets Forever - where "Dagger ! " happens......
We have some serious team speed
We should consider running some full court press next year.
