Pau Gasol

After a weekend of exciting college hoops, I'm still happy to watch some NBA tonight.  I doubt we win, but it'll at least be a good effort.  I think.

Andrew Bynum's out for LA, so I'm guessing Pau starts at center.

GO WIZARDS!

I hate the idea of just adding a Los to make them Latin

The jerseys don’t say “The Lakers”, it’s just “Lakers”. It should be, I don’t know, Lakeros or something. Aguitos?

Holy crap

Shaun Livingston.

You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

by Mike Prada on Mar 21, 2010 9:48 PM EDT reply actions

It's Noche Latina...

…and “Los Lakers” are rocking an alternate name and a badge. The Wizards…nothing. Didn’t they get the memo?

by dogshammdog on Mar 21, 2010 9:56 PM EDT reply actions

Ok, while I don't like this lineup's proclivity for turnovers

I do like that our shortest player is 6’7. If we’re not going to be good, let’s at least stay interesting.

by pantslessyoda1 on Mar 21, 2010 9:57 PM EDT reply actions

Please James

Don’t let Artest do that shit to you again

by imperialme on Mar 21, 2010 10:03 PM EDT reply actions

I know it's optimistic, but I really can't wait until Singleton doesn't have to create offense

A healthy Gil combined with Dray and maybe Evan Turner would do wonders for our offense. Wes Johnson was a monster today, but I would much rather get someone who can create a shot.

Nick young?

Is it a blowout in the 4th quarter already?

by qthaballa on Mar 21, 2010 10:07 PM EDT reply actions

I know it's not really a popular opinion

But I REALLY like Foye a lot. He’s a perfect sixth man and don’t even mind him playing the point under certain circumstances. He’d actually be perfect in LA playing the Fisher role.

by pantslessyoda1 on Mar 21, 2010 10:11 PM EDT up reply actions

He'd need to get over himself and sacrifice shots

But assuming he could, he’s the right kind of guy for that team.

You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

by Mike Prada on Mar 21, 2010 10:12 PM EDT up reply actions

I really like Foye

Him and Brandon roy being the only players i’ve watched through college (weird coincidence huh). But he doesnt seem to have found himself yet

by qthaballa on Mar 21, 2010 10:13 PM EDT up reply actions

He needs to be himself

He is NOT a point guard. He is a scorer, Flip needs to let him do him

by qthaballa on Mar 21, 2010 10:14 PM EDT up reply actions

He's not that young though

I was confident they’d play him off the ball and he’d play the Nick Young role. Instead, they gave him the ball and all he does is shoot 22-footers.

You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

by Mike Prada on Mar 21, 2010 10:17 PM EDT up reply actions

You know what!!!

I’ve been noticing this also. ALLLLLL teams have done this, using players not usually in the rotation on days the Wizards visit

by qthaballa on Mar 21, 2010 10:16 PM EDT up reply actions

WOW

Josh Powell scoring in the post???? Are we in agreeance that what the Wizards need most is a post presence?

by qthaballa on Mar 21, 2010 10:19 PM EDT reply actions

Think Quinton Ross can do a better job?

I mean Miller isnt doing much on offense anyway

by qthaballa on Mar 21, 2010 10:29 PM EDT up reply actions

Or try Nick Young.....

Can’t be any worse than Miller is doing

Bullets Forever - where "Dagger ! " happens......

by Rook6980 on Mar 21, 2010 10:29 PM EDT up reply actions

that too

Nick’s actually OK on ball

by imperialme on Mar 21, 2010 10:30 PM EDT up reply actions

Or, zone

Flip’s answer to everything.

You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

by Mike Prada on Mar 21, 2010 10:30 PM EDT up reply actions

They shoot too well

I’m really just venting my displeasure with Miller. We don’t have anybody that’s going to stay with Kobe, but Mike just a white flag.

by imperialme on Mar 21, 2010 10:32 PM EDT up reply actions

There you go

Push the ball once in a while.

You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

by Mike Prada on Mar 21, 2010 10:58 PM EDT reply actions

Oh my god

They ran a proper fast break

by imperialme on Mar 21, 2010 10:59 PM EDT reply actions

I may just be different from you all

But i can’t even enjoy this one anymore. Wiz on pace for 70 again

by qthaballa on Mar 21, 2010 11:00 PM EDT up reply actions

You know

It’s one thing to give up a ton of points, but when you constantly aren’t scoring any yourself….

by qthaballa on Mar 21, 2010 11:02 PM EDT reply actions

Hell yeah Blatche

Thats how you avoid the double

by qthaballa on Mar 21, 2010 11:07 PM EDT reply actions

Okay, so....

I’ve been back and forth and also was waiting on an article for this but, what is Washington’s biggest need?

by qthaballa on Mar 21, 2010 11:14 PM EDT reply actions

Talent

I think we’re too early to think to ourselves “We need another frontcourt body” or “We need a scoring guard.” So much is in flux.

You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

by Mike Prada on Mar 21, 2010 11:16 PM EDT up reply actions

Catch 22

They give up tons of points in the paint (and everywhere else) but also lacks scoring . A scorer/closer is needed, and so is a post presence. Which is more important?

by qthaballa on Mar 21, 2010 11:16 PM EDT up reply actions

We need Dray and JaVale to continue to develop

We need Arenas to find the chip on his shoulder that he used to play with. We need a true presence on the wing. And we need somebody that’ll smack the other team around a little. I still say we start with ownership and work down.

by imperialme on Mar 21, 2010 11:19 PM EDT up reply actions

Honestly

I don’t watch enough college hoops to answer the question

by imperialme on Mar 21, 2010 11:22 PM EDT up reply actions

Same here

I really didnt start until draft conversations came around and i started watching Wiz’s potential draft picks. Cousins, Aldrich (sorry), Wall, Turner, Favors. Haha i just kept going from there. haven’t seen Wesley Johnson yet.

by qthaballa on Mar 21, 2010 11:25 PM EDT up reply actions

Johnson was a man today

But it’s the only time I’ve seen him

by imperialme on Mar 21, 2010 11:26 PM EDT up reply actions

I liked him all year, but he was awful against Tech

Shumpert’s a great defender, but he was invisible past the 10 minute mark.

You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

by Mike Prada on Mar 21, 2010 11:22 PM EDT up reply actions

Agreed

But you also have to give major props to Tech’s defensive strategy. They dared Moses and Pilgrim to beat them.

by qthaballa on Mar 21, 2010 11:24 PM EDT up reply actions

I say post presence

But i dont know who’s best in the draft. I thought it was Cousins but someone posted a profile on Favors on here suggesting he was better

by qthaballa on Mar 21, 2010 11:19 PM EDT reply actions

Rook's a Favors guy

We’re posting his Cousins writeup tomorrow. I’m more of a Cousins guy but it’s close. Depends on what happens with Arenas.

You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

by Mike Prada on Mar 21, 2010 11:20 PM EDT up reply actions

Whats your thoughts on these guys?

-Cole Aldrich
-James Anderson
-Jarvis Varnado
-Devan Downey

by qthaballa on Mar 21, 2010 11:22 PM EDT up reply actions

I need to watch more tapes

Don’t worry though, we have plenty of draft threads coming these next few weeks.

You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

by Mike Prada on Mar 21, 2010 11:28 PM EDT up reply actions

Thanks

Can you remember those guys though? Not really Downey so much, but the rest

by qthaballa on Mar 21, 2010 11:32 PM EDT up reply actions

My sense is DeSean Butler is not an NBA player

Kyle can tell you a lot aout Varnado.

You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

Kyle=Truth About It

Mississippi State grad.

You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

by Mike Prada on Mar 21, 2010 11:38 PM EDT up reply actions

Truth about it?

And i know about Varnado, i wanted to see what other Wizards fans thought about him

by qthaballa on Mar 21, 2010 11:40 PM EDT up reply actions

I like Shannon Brown

He’s a free agent this summer right? He could come pretty cheap.

by imperialme on Mar 21, 2010 11:28 PM EDT reply actions

Anyone else frustrated?

Nick Young gives the Wiz these types of performances every 20 games or so

by qthaballa on Mar 21, 2010 11:44 PM EDT reply actions

Streamers?

For beating the Bullets? It is homecoming….

by imperialme on Mar 21, 2010 11:51 PM EDT reply actions
