I dont appreciate the sentiment
It’s been a month since everyone got traded and Andray is putting up solid numbers, but the team isn’t winning any games. This team paid him good money to suck for many years while they developed him.
So “if” he puts up good numbers next year with Gil don’t feel like your under appreciated because it was the Wizards who took a risk on a high school player and it was the wiz who resigned him after showing next to nothing and getting arrested. The way I see it thats 4 and a half years of over paying him.
Can the fans feel under appreciated? I like Andray, Ive been cheering him on since he first got here, but shut up and win some games.
Underpaid my behind.
He was paid what he was worth at the time, and what he was projected to be worth over the life of his contract. If he’s bothered about his contract, then he has no one to blame but himself. If he wants a bigger contract, then he has to earn it.
I don’t see a story.
Tomasson has a history of taking things out of context
He did it with Chris Paul when he wrote that Paul demanded a trade, and he did it with Amare saying he might opt-out when he really just said he wasn’t sure. I don’t see this as a big deal … yet.
You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.
Exactly
I was about to touch on the same subject, without hearing/reading the entire transcript of the interview it’s not something to get too worked up about yet. It seemed to me from some of AB’s quotes that Tomasson definitely asked some leading questions.
AB shouldn’t worry, if his production/improvement continues, he will get paid. Leonsis won’t let him get away(he needs to get control of this team soon).

Fair enough
Just felt like getting kicked while down.

I also think Dray isn't quite media-savvy yet to avoid the leading questions
Which explains how some of these quotes sound.

On the flipside, at least he has job security
I would be more than happy to be making Andray Blatche-type money. Still a 23-24 y.o. millionare…
