The Mavericks have their eyes on Philadelphia’s Andre Iguodala and Sacramento’s Martin, but a source says they’ve lost interest with the Washington Wizards’ Caron Butler over his so-so season.
On the to-do list today: update the trade thread. On the to-do list for this weekend: a longer deadline post.

Welcome to the party Dallas.

Actually
I didn’t think Dallas was in the market for Butler…. Now Haywood… that’s a different story.
I think Haywood would be great at either Dallas or San Antonio – - PROBLEM is that neither of those teams will have a decent First round pick to give up….
So I think Utah might be the best trade partner (Boozer and Okur stink on Defense) – and Utah has NY’s first round pick they could throw in with Kyle Korver’s expiring….
Bullets Forever - where "Dagger ! " happens......
What about Butler+Haywood for Kirilenko+NY's #1?
If we then traded for Curry+Hill+2012 pick, that would give us two massive expiring contracts next season to use.

hate to pat myself on the back
Actually, I like it.
But seriously, I’ve been saying this for weeks. Caron’s poor play is lowering his trade value. As bad as last nights game was, you can’t hang it on Nick Young. He got the bulk of Caron’s minutes, and I think the results would have been similar either way. Maybe Caron gets more than 15 points (BIG maybe), but he also would have played more than the 30 minutes (give or take) that NY played. Bottom line – it’s time for the youth movement, whether the vets are gone or not.
Holy Cow, that picture
Extremely well-chosen example, there.
"It has come to the editor’s attention that the Herald-Leader neglected to cover the civil rights movement. We regret the omission."
