DARYL MOREY IS A GOD

"The deal struck Wednesday night will send Martin, Kenny Thomas, Hilton Armstrong and Sergio Rodriguez to the Rockets for McGrady, Carl Landry, Joey Dorsey and an undisclosed amount of cash."

I haven't seen a move this brilliant since the last time I watched Saturday Night Fever!!!

Its still being finalized and may be changed a little, but it basically amounts to kevin martin for landry, which is an excellent swap when you have yao ming and scola next year.

PICK UP THE PHONE ERNIE

I know the caller ID says NYK, but pick it up and send them our expiring deals.

I don't think thats a very good trade at all

I’d rather have Landry than Martin. Rodriguez is a nice piece though. Maybe this way then can let Lowry walk?

I think

they need a real scorer now that McGrady is gone.

What’s gonna be interesting is watching T-Mac and Tyreke Evans play together the rest of the year.

Landry is averaging 16 ppg in 28mpg

He’s a legit scorer and one of the few low post scorers in the league. Martin is a nice scorer but doesn’t bring much else. Not sure its a huge upgrade unless you think Landry will make more than 10-11M a season when he hits the FA market again after next season. I doubt T-Mac stays there past tommorow.

I think Kevin Martin will thrive in Houston. But I'm biased: I'm a deep Kevin Martin fanboy.

That being said, I think it’s a fair trade for both sides.

No mistakes in the tango, Donna. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....

'm not sure Donald Sterling is a human being. He had to have been manufactured by someone, possibly David Stern, so that one team could solely just make profit for the NBA while doing nothing good for themselves. -- Aykis 16

I agree with you

So what if he just scores, that’s what Houston needs. Most of the other guys on their team do the other things.

Also Yao Ming is a total wild card right now

If he comes back healthy they seriously compete next year and try and resign him. If he doesn’t come back or misses 20 games and Morey feels compelled to let him walk then they rebuild around Brooks, Martin, and Ariza and have no low post scorer and are super weak in the frontcourt.

4 letter

Is reporting that McGrady would go the Knicks along with Sergio. It would be a 3 team deal.

by Jheiser3 on Feb 18, 2010 8:14 AM EST reply actions

if the Kings were smart, and willing to spend the money

they’d trade McGrady to New York for Galinari, Hill, Curry, Jeffries and (maybe) a future #1.

That would give the Kings Omri Casspi, Donte Greene, Jason Thompson, Spencer Hawes, Galinari, Jordan Hill and a 2010 #1 to complement Tyreke Evans (and they would all be on rookie deals).

Plus, it would give them $17 million worth of expiring contracts to trade at next years deadline.

With the emergence of Casspi and Evans

Kevin Martin became a tradeable asset that they turned into an above average post player. I am always skeptical of players that put up big numbers on terrible teams.

i believe

that ernie is banging burt. That may be the only excuse he has to have failed so completely, hes been distracted shucking a muppet. WHY cant the wiz pick up players like sergio. i mean he is exactly what we should be getting in return for the talent we just dropped. This Dallas debacle has givin me acid reflux. Ernie looks like a mexican trying to ice skate. I still dont get why you dump haywood. He is exactly the type of player you need to win a championship; hes a great backup center. Now we gotta draft bigs, which and this is an understatment, are not ernie strength of judging. Nice pick sports illustrated; Ernie gm of the year. I guess that couldve happened but it just seems so far away now. The NBA is outta control right now. One thing I hope Ernie learns from all of this, and its not him that has done this, but all across the NBA players are getting vastly overpaid. That is why you can trade two great players in haywood and butler and get crap back. You can trade the most connsummate professional to come into this town in over a decade for a very late 1st round pick. This post is refeshing because is highlights a realitvely fair trade, with good parts moving back and forth. Allah Wooz

It gets better

Apparently he’s trading T-Mac and Carl Landry and receiving Martin, Jeffries, Jordan Hill, a top-1 protected pick in 2011 and a top-five protected pick in 2012 from the Knicks.

That’s insane.

You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

It can’t be both from the Knicks. And it can’t be 2011 from NYK, right? Since they gave up their pick this year.

Sorry if this isn't still news

I feel sick.

Wow when do you ever see . . .

an agent actually help a GM conduct business.
