Its obvious, but how should they.
If it was up to me I would trade all contracts longer than 3 years and try to stack young players and draft picks.
The Caron Butler trade was a good start in blowing up the roster.
Void Arenas's contract.
Then the next trade would be Big Z, Leon Powe, and a first round draft pick for Jamison. I think the Wizards should also make the Cavs give them the money to buy out Zydrunas's contract.
Then this might sound like a bad trade, but it will help the Wizards. Trade Mike Miller to Bulls for a 1 st round pick and Kirk Hinrich.
The Bulls are desperate to get rid of Hinrich's contract. The Wizards need a new floor general. Hinrich is a great defender, a good shooter, and a good passer. He also is a good leader. The Wizards are not going to get a good point guard in free agency. They need a good point guard if they want to win. Kirk is a good point guard. He can still be a 15 points, 6 assist guy.
So The Wizards would have 3 first round picks and over 30 million. They aren't going to attract any huge free agents. I do think they should become a defense first team. Sign Marcus Camby and Raja Bell. They might be able to sign Rudy Gay. The Wizards might be able to buy a pick of the Celtics too seeing as they need to shed money.
so the Wizards could become a playoff team in 2 years knowing the weak east.
They could get 2 lottery picks in 2010 draft if the Bulls continue to suck, definitely two top 15. Then they might be able to get a mid-20 pick if they could buy the Celtic's picks. They would have another lottery pick in 2011.
Right now the team really is not in good shape. I like Blatche and McGee though. Blatche to me is Jason Thompson if given minutes. Mcgee is Brendan Haywood if given his minutes. They can be good in the future though.
