Breakdown of Lazy Blatche's Terrible Defense
Someone on another blog just pointed this out to me. It's a couple of weeks old, but it perfectly demonstrates how lazy and uninvolved Andray Blatche can sometimes be. We saw a lot of recurrences of that version of Blatche in the Raptors game last Wednesday.

Not really a breakdown.
But what a demonstrative and damning clip. That was hilarious if it’s any other team. That’s embarrassing for a middle school player.

A problem on both sides of the ball
This isn’t just a defensive problem. Blatche plays the same way on offense. He stands 20 feet from the basket and doesn’t feel like working for a shot so he wings up a long jumpshot. This guy has an often terminal illness- laziness- on both sides of the floor.
The sad thing is he has enough skill to not try real hard and get 17 and 8. So people that just look at the numbers will think he’s a solid player. You can’t win consistently with a guy who plays like this, numbers or no numbers. And we just reupped him for a five year contract, deeming him a "centerpiece."
The only way to salvage this guy is with some really hard coaching, which Flip gave him last year and he progressed, but this year Flip is concentrating on the rookies it seems and Blatche is slipping through the cracks.
