Why is everyone so low on JaVale McGee?

I just don't understand the way that McGee is talked about around here. The fact that he's even mentioned in the same breath as Andray is an insult to JaVale. Just take a look at his per36 stat line: 12 pts-11 rbs-3 blks-54% FG

What more do you want from your franchise center? I understand that he doesn't play the best defense, but his stats more than offset that. McGee and Wall should be the cornerstones of the franchise going forward, and if Ernie doesn't understand that, then I've completely lost faith in this organization. In the CBS sports article discussing a potential trade for McGee, he was reffered to as "a project" who "hasn't really developed his game outside of alley-oops, putbacks and trying to block every shot attempted." That's just not true, McGee isn't a project anymore; he's a legit starting center.

Blatche on the other hand, does deserve some of the criticism he's attracted. His per36 numbers: 17 pts-8 rbs-2 ast-3 TO-43% FG. That's just not helping the team. His stats have clearly plateaued; last year he put up almost the exact same numbers, just on much better shooting. At least on the Wizards, it seems as though Dray has stopped improving and he really should be moved while he has at least some value. If I wake up tomorrow to see that Ernie has traded Blatche, my faith in the organization will be at an all time high. If I see that he's traded McGee, I may just give up on the Wizards. Does anyone share my sentiment? Am I crazy?
