What Makes Us That Much Better Than Cav's Fans(with Poll)

There has been tons of Gilbert Arenas coverage today, but I just had to put my final thoughts out there. It sucks to see him go. But there is no question, it was time.

And for those who still hate, honestly, where would this team have gone, the last 7 seasons, had he not decided to become a Washington Wizard? He gave us more memories than any player may ever do again. And he won us some games while he was at it. My fandom would surely not be the same without him. Hell, I honestly might not even be a Wiz fan were it not for Gilbert Arenas. He gave me my first Wizards, and really, my first NBA memories. He was a performer like few others in this league. Gil not only had more talents than almost anybody, but he really put on a show, and he made his fans love him. He has been honest and real and fun for us fans since day one. All of the stories I have heard about Gil leave me with the same impression; he was as humble and confident as you could ask a person to be, he loved his fans here, he liked playing in this city, and he wanted to just have fun and make all those people that cheered for him happy. How different is this than some NBA stars(yeah I mean Lebron)?

My point is, you could say Gilbert fans were the real winners of all of those Cleveland-Washington series. We are the ones that still have a player to cheer for. We can have pride in those memories, and put them down in our history books without feeling ashamed of them.

If I could go back to the beginning of the Gilbert era, I would do it all the same. I would cheer for Agent 0 and his crew with every breath I had, before I would wish, even for one second, that I was on the other side of it.I remember going to lay down after losing any one of those games to the Cav's in the playoffs, and just miserably thinking about the game for hours. Thinking of the crap I was going to hear from my friends because I hand gone on for hours about what Gil was going to do, the day before. But I can say I am happy with that now. Those Cav's fans would trade spots with us in a second(although they probably wouldn't admit it), if they were given the choice. Because the bottom line is this, they have the same amount of titles to show for it, as we do, but they have one more dirty, lying, traitor in their memories than we do. And that feels pretty good from where I am sitting right now.

Thanks Gilbert, I am going to keep cheering for you as much as ever. Go beat Miami for us!
