The Worst Owner in the NBA
I read this today and it blew my mind. I can't believe that an NBA owner would do such a thing. Thank God we have Ted! Can you imagine Ted doing something like this? Seriously?

After all the racism and slumlordism, THIS surprises you?
I’ll give it to Abe. He was an AWFUL owner but atleast he was a good human being.
I Didn't Know the Biography of Don Sterling
I just read up on that on Wikipedia. Bad stuff, all of it. But to heckle your own players? That not only makes you a bad person, but an incredibly stupid businessman. What kind of employee would show up to work motivated and confident when his boss is heckling him while he does his job? You can be a bad person and still own a good team. But the Clippers will never be any good as long as their owner is taunting any player that happens to underperform while they take free throws.

I mean the sexual harrasment and racial discrimination wasn't good for any of his businesses when you consider the legal settlements and fees.
So the Baron thing does fit neatly into that pattern of self-destructive A-holeism. It’s surreal the stuff he gets away with and Stern doesn’t blink an eye. The way Sterling is given a free pass to operate in comparison to the players is pretty galling.

I Don't Know What David Stern Could Do, Honestly
Don Sterling is an owner. What can Stern do to an owner? He could fine him, I suppose, like he does to Mark Cuban when Cuban complains about officiating. But is a $50,000 fine going to sway a guy like Sterling? I think the Clippers are basically stuck with him. It’s a real shame.
I’d feel sorry for L.A. if they didn’t already have the Lakers. Quite frankly, I don’t know why anybody in L.A. would want to be a Clippers fan at this point.

MLB ran Marge Schott out of there
I think more should be done to force him out or ban him. I’d love to see how Stern reacts if a black player was so frequently involved with discrimination against white people. It just raises too many race/sex/class issues of which the NBA has too many already.

I admit this is pretty low of Don Sterling
but honestly I’d be pretty pissed too if I paid a player tens of millions to bring him to my team, and then he comes into the season injured and out of shape and playing like crap.
But When Your Boss Heckles You
It could be a self-fulfilling prophecy. Baron could very well be playing worse because his boss is destroying his confidence. NBA players are expected to ignore heckling from fans and simply play their game, but how can you ignore your boss? Don Sterling is directly hurting his team on the court by his childish behavior.
