I chatted with Larry Hughes (with other writers, of course) before tonight's game.  Hughes talked a lot about Gilbert Arenas and his future here.  I'll type it up after the game.

Flip Saunders was brief before tonight's game, saying that last night's game won't go to the Hall of Fame and repeating that the players who play best on the court will play, regardless of status.

Otherwise, that's all.

GO WIZARDS!

"...and repeating that the players who play best on the court will play, regardless of status. "

If this was true why did he put Antawn and Caron back in last night at the most crucial point of the game?

I wonder if anyone will play defene tonight

Good play by the starters

They’re playing like they’re pissed about last night.

You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

ball moving?

wtf? who are these guys?

jeffries has been struggling with his shot?

is that just always implied?

yeah that's what makes jeffries jeffries

not that he’s not a valuable player in some ways. just not shooting.

what a difference talent and experience makes

I see hints of what D’Antoni ran with the Suns, but these guys don’t quite have it yet.

by Pryme on Jan 30, 2010 8:28 PM EST reply actions

Yeah

I’m honestly impressed they’re even 18-27.

You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

Blatche

actually looked to put a body on Jeffries, and boxed him out on that defensive rebound…..

Who are THESE guys?

Boxing out…. contesting shots….. moving without the ball…. passing…. helping on Defense…. setting good screens….

This can’t be the Wizards team I’ve been following all year….

wiz definitely looking really good

but the knicks will make you look like this when they aren’t hitting shots.

They’re taking some pretty bad jumpers right now

and the wiz would let him do it

Ball stopped moving…. players stopped moving…. Offense stopped moving

They should put a chainlink fence around the court tonight

‘cause this game’s playground.

Any minute now, Blatche’s mom is going to yell, “Andray, get your butt in the house!!”

by disgrunted on Jan 30, 2010 8:42 PM EST reply actions

Miller has to take that 3 at the top of the key

The machup zone has thrown them off a bit, but they still have to take open shots.

by Matt K. on Jan 30, 2010 8:43 PM EST reply actions

I think taking out Foye changed the game...

He and Miller were really moving the basketball….

Then Boykins came in……

I'm just surprised how well Hill is moving without the ball

I haven’t been able to watch the Knicks much, but he seems decent for a rookie.

by Matt K. on Jan 30, 2010 8:58 PM EST up reply actions

he has looked ok tonight

i think knocks fans are upset at how little pt. he gets

Wow. Where did THAT 12-1 run come from?

by WizChick on Jan 30, 2010 9:27 PM EST via mobile reply actions

Butler just not playing with ANY confidence...

Passed up an open shot at the free throw line , to pass the ball – Turn Over…

Caron’s game has been almost non-existent this season. Maybe he needs to return to his diet of Mountain Dew.

by WizChick on Jan 30, 2010 9:37 PM EST via mobile up reply actions

This team seems to play better at a faster pace...

Not necessarily scoring on fast breaks every play…. but getting down court fast seems to keep the players moving…. even if they don’;t shoot the ball early in the shot clock…

When they walk the ball up the court, the team seems to stagnate;

To be fair, it's the Knicks

But yes, I’m convinced their ability to push the ball this quarter has been a huge key.

You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

Wiz killing the Knicks on the boards 44 - 29

New York's defensive rebounding is very bad

David Lee’s a good rebounder, but he’s not the type that’ll control the defensive boards all by himself by occupying other players.

You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

by Mike Prada on Jan 30, 2010 9:43 PM EST up reply actions

and how great is it to see the Wizards as the team with more 3-pointers made?

Wiz are 10-17 from (thanks to Miller, Young and Foye) – while NY, who likes to shoot the 3 are only 5-17

Bullets Forever - where "Dagger ! " happens......

by Rook6980 on Jan 30, 2010 9:43 PM EST up reply actions

to be fair

Jamison passed Nick the ball with only 7 seconds left….. NO ONE else moved…. and Nick had to create something….

He’s probably rusty (creating shots)….

It was very disorienting to see in person

I felt like going up to him and being like “So, Clyde, what. the. fuck.” I decided not to.

So

who else thinks Mike James will be dealt to NY for Jeffries?

Bullets Forever - where "Dagger ! " happens......

by Rook6980 on Jan 30, 2010 10:02 PM EST reply actions

It that a possible trade or sarcasm? Just curious..

by purpleonblack86 on Jan 30, 2010 10:04 PM EST up reply actions

Well - obviously

the Wiz would want something else in return… a draft pick, or a young player….
NY wants to shed Jeffries salary -

Would you take him back though..

by purpleonblack86 on Jan 30, 2010 10:06 PM EST up reply actions

Sure

why not… Assuming the Wiz are rebuilding…. trade James for Jeffries and a pick…. or James for Jeffries and Tony Douglas…

Jeffries salary goes through next year….
