Well

Perhaps it’s really difficult to shed the “poor defender” badge, once it’s been pinned on a player – but my “eyeball” test says that Nick Young played above average one-on-one defense in the second half last year.

I’ve made that statement before, and I’m sticking to my assertion.

Roll out all the arguments you want about the level of competition (bench vs.starters); or point to a couple of plays that showed him getting beat – but I still say that he focused on defense in the 2nd half – and as a result was a much better defender. I’ll even say “above average” – - -
