Former Rhode Island guard Jimmy Baron to play on Wizards Summer League team
Baron is a bit of an interesting case because he'll be playing with Utah in the Orlando summer league and then playing for Washington in Vegas. If three point shooting is your thing, he'll provide it in spades. He shot 45.4% from deep last year.

Wait ...
So we can confirm that THREE guards have been invited to summer league so far?
URI’s Baron
WVU’s Ruoff
BC’s Rice
I’m no GM, and rosters are not yet “official” … but I’d rather the first invitees we hear about be big men.

Why?

You are assuming that our Summer League invites are actually going to have a chance to make our roster. Considering we already have 13 players under contract and play to sign a free agent or two, I don’t think that is a realistic possibility. These guys will be auditioning for other teams or for the D-League.

Summer League also really isn't a league for big men
You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.

But at the same time
it would be nice to see some sign that the team is concerned at least a little bit with filling the one real hole in the roster. I’m assuming this means that Grunfeld is looking at older big men who wouldn’t play in Summer League anyway, while all of the younger talent is getting picked up by other teams.
