"Gilbert Arenas is the worst person on earth," Tony Kornheiser said on today's episode of the On the DL podcast. "He's a coach killer and a team killer. He's a team killer, Gilbert Arenas. He got Eddie Jordan fired. He didn't play."

DC Sports Bog. Kornheiser is a punk. Are you kidding me with this?

I get more worked up over this, but...

I’m pretty sure TK didn’t watch a Wizards game all year, so I wouldn’t get too upset about it.

Coach killer?

Wasn’t Eddie the longest tenured coach in the Eastern Conference? Wasn’t the team’s record 1-10 when the firing occurred? Weren’t a large number of coaches from other teams also fired during the season in places like Oklahoma City, Toronto, Sacramento, and Philadelphia? So was Eddie’s firing unusual in any way? Isn’t saying that Gilbert caused the firing a direct insult of Ernie Grunfeld, ie it says the Ernie doesn’t make his own decisions?
Gilbert’s injury problems have left a news void that the media are filling with revisionist history and out and out story telling.

Yeah, I don’t think as many people value Kornheiser’s perspective on DC sports as they did years ago.

In any case, Kornheiser follows Wilbon who called Blatche a “coach-killer.” Let’s be honest, for anyone who thinks Jordan shouldn’t have lost his job (and perhaps he shouldn’t have), it was Grunfeld who made the decision. This has nothing to do with Arenas, Blatche or any other player. Grunfeld is the “coach-killer” if we really want to use those terms. There’s no one else except maybe Abe Pollin. To suggest otherwise is absurd.

I find it a little disturbing that the national media can be up in arms about James’s poor behavior after the final game with the Magic, and it was poor, yet someone like Kornheiser can say something like this – which I find far more offensive – and it mostly goes unnoticed.

But did you notice

No one spoke up against LeBron’s unsportsmanlike conduct until a couple of brave souls called him out?

Then all of a sudden, it’s like the glare of LeBron’s crown has been removed from their eyes, and the rest of the Media started piling on. Until then, they were all fawning and apologizing for him; saying that he’s “such a competitor” – - – insulting every other NBA player that has ever played the game, and stuck around after a defeat to shake the hands of their opponent.

Same thing with the Kornheiser thing – - – perhaps the Dan Stineberg article on his blog will wake up the rest of the Media and they’ll get smart…..

yeah that's a good point

Most were quiet initially, then it became OK or even proper to speak out.

Not sure the same will happen with Kornheiser, but perhaps the scope is just different – Conference Finals vs. some podcast. Still nice to vent about the ridiculous things he speaks.
