5. Wizards/Antawn Jamison select ...
DeMar DeRozan, G/F, USC

"He reminds me of Vince Carter as a Tar Heel -- the body, build, and athleticism," says forward Antawn Jamison, who played with VC in Chapel HIll. "He could've been a top pick if we didn't have the age limit. But he'll benefit from the veterans, and in two or three years, he can be a household name."

Doug Says: "DeRozan has a chance to be special. Let's hope he can develop better habits than Gilbert Arenas."

From the Mag

Saw this is ESPN the magazine. Interesting choice by AJ. He’s thinking long term for the franchise even in this instance.

Is the Cheap Shot at Gilbert

really necessary? Personally, I would love it if our draft pick had the work ethic and game Gilbert does. He’s a little wacky, but that should not be mistaken for being a knucklehead with bad “habits.”

Doug Gottlieb knows nothing about the NBA

The last thing wrong with Gilbert Arenas is his work ethic.

Considering the VC

wasn’t really League news until he started dunking on ppl like a cop at a donut shop, I’m not sure if this can be considered a compliment.

We don’t need athleticism as much as a fundamentally sound complementary player.

Maybe Jamison wants to make sure they’re someone around to get his bags and bring him his grub.

Jamison vs. Butler

So who wins a 2 on 2 game between Derozan/Jamison vs. Butler and his pick Stephen Curry?

Curry gets the nod

DeRozan/Jamison would have the size, but Curry’s deadly shooting would win out.

Yuck!

I wouldn’t be thrilled with DeRozan. I hope the Wizards are dealing the pick if DeRozan is who they will take.
