snakes endorsement for us to sign A.I.?
j/k but a video like this puts in perspective the career this guy has had. Sure fire first ballot hall of famer and one of the toughest guys ever to play the game. To bad no one wants him now.
Even though I know we shouldn’t, the fan in me would love to see Iverson in a wizards Uniform. If a scenario came about where we shipped off several assets for less in return, and we end up having a stronger starting line-up but a much weaker bench (which I could totally see happening), AI would be a valuable bench piece. I know, I know he has said that he doesn’t want to come off the bench, and he’s a perceived cancer but, if we gave him the opportunity to come back and play for his home team and have a chance to compete for a championship that has avoided him thus far, it’d be a situation he’d hopefully be all for. Players like him need to adapt to survive in this league. If he committed to wanting to win while also being an important member of the team (even as a sixth man), we should make a move.
Agreed
The rule wasn’t intended to be an endorsement of signing AI, but if he was willing to come off the bench and if our current bench was depleted by a big trade, I could see him working out here. Alas, I don’t think all of the stars will line up for that to happen, but I wouldn’t be opposed to it if everything lined up right.

people said the same thing the past few years when
the lakers took that team of HOFer’s to the finals, when miami was stacked for their run and of the celts big three last year when they won. I feel like any NBA player would do almost anything if it means winning a championship. You get a ring and you are immortalized so when they feel like they have a real shot, they will make that sacrifice. That detroit team last year had no chance of winning big, so Iverson had every right to feel dogged. I wouldn’t want to come off the bench for a lottery team either if I was him. But If we got some other pieces in here and we had a chance, I feel that guys like him and Gil would be much more willing to adapt to one another in order to make it work.
I went to school at VCU with a lot of folks from the Tidewater
And those folks went crazy when they saw that on SportsCenter. And they talked about that play for years and years and years.
I have to say seeing Allen Iverson play live is one of my biggest thrills as a basketball fan. He has never cheated me or any basketball fans ever and for that he will always have me as a fan.
