There is yet another rumor running around about one of the Phoenix Three being traded. Over the weekend we saw reports that the Suns might send Amare Stoudemire - yes, here we go with Stoudemire trade rumors again - to the Washington Wizards for Antawn Jamison, the expiring contract of Mike James, and the #5 pick in the 2009 NBA Draft.

One reason to take this article with the proverbial grain of salt
Jamison is a hard-working defender as well as a prolific scorer.
Anyone who would write that statement, will write ANYTHING.

Grunfeld and Defense
This is interesting, but I don’t see it happening:
EG LOVES his boy Antawn. He’s had many opportunities to get rid of him – why now, that the team’s back together, and (knock on wood) healthy(ish). As Prada has pointed out, EG has shown that he wants to keep this core together.
Second, bringing Amare only accentuates our problems, am I right? Suns fans have griped to me over the years: he’s an awful defender and gives up too much. Not that Antawn is that much better – and I’d be very cautious about how Amare would translate into our offense… I know Arenas says he’s going to be a true point guard (for real this time!), but Amare has relied on Nash for playmaking, and we don’t have a playmaker as good as that. Arenas is a scorer, and always will be. Chauncey too, if you’ve been watching the Nuggets recently.
I would do this in a heart beat.
We upgrade the PF position and free up roster space to use the second round pick (which i personally think is more valuable than the #5 pick since there’s not a lot of top 10 talent but a lot of late round talent).
Bring it. Amare would have to be signed to an extension of course.
