Around SBN: Tiger Woods, Tony Romo Grouped Together At Pebble Beach

In the unlikely case that Rubio slips past Sacramento, it appears that Washington will not hesitate to pick him if they feel like he’s indeed the best player on their draft board. The prevailing sentiment at the moment is that Rubio is not in a position to return to Joventut, and that he may have lost some of the leverage he once had by keeping his name in the draft and suing his former team.

Many feel like Rubio would be a good fit in Washington playing alongside Gilbert Arenas, but Rubio’s camp apparently does not agree with that notion at all.

Really? With Paul Westphal in SacTown do people really think Rubio would slip past #4? I'd be shocked.

“In the unlikely event that while they are on the clock on draft day Sacramento forgets they have a pick and accidently let the time expire…”

hehe

I could see them sending Larry David up to make the pick and that happening.

Is the talk about moving up to 3 dead

It hasn’t been mentioned here at all, so I was wondering if that possibility is still out there.

Not sure

The only rumor I heard was JaVale McGee and the 5th pick to OKC for the 3rd pick.

That trade rumor was roundly panned here on BF as being too expensive. JaVale would be a top 5 pick in this year’s draft – so the Wizards would be essentially giving up two top 5 picks to get the 3rd pick.

Now, if they were to include Blatche instead of McGee (and OKC does need a PF), then that deal would probably work. I doubt OKC is sufficiently enamored with Blatche to do that deal. But they could conceivably still get their guy (Thabeet) at number 5 – AND pick up another big for essentially no cost to them.

Kevin Durant, Jeff Green, Russell Westbrook, Andray Blatche and Hasheem Thabeet would be a pretty good young core to build around.

I stopped hearing about moving up to 3

around the time when the “Rubio is anti-DC” rumor started.

Said it before, saying it again

Abe will not allow Jamison to be traded. If that were to happen, I’d be shocked.
