Trade idea from a bulls fan.
Just wondering what you all thought of this deal.
Ben Gordon in a sign in trade (signed for about 8-10 mil a year), with jerome james (and his 6 million insurance covered contract that ends after this next year), along with our 26th pick.
For
Your 5th pick, Etan thomas and his 6 mil contract, songalia and his 4 million$ contract for hte next 2 years, and mike james and his 6 million dollar player option for this coming year(that he will most likely opt into).
Your starting 5 would be Arenas, Gordon, Butler, Jamison, and Haywood (which isnt to shabby) with Crittenton, young, and mcgee coming off the bench.
Just wondering the other sides thoughts,as i see it as a good deal with both sides (since hearing you are looking to trade the pick for a known commodity)

I like Gordon, but I don't think he fits with Arenas
Hinrich, on the other hand, comes cheaper and is seen as a better fit.
You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.
Very bad defensive back court

Bad defensive back court?
Are you talking about Arenas & Gordon or Arenas and Hinrich
Bullets Forever - where "Dagger ! " happens......
I'm pretty sure he meant Arenas and Gordon
You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.
Wouldn't your Bulls just rather sign Gordon for 8-10 million?
That sure is a lot of money to take back to Chicago too, expiring contracts or not.

Can this guy play defense?
I don’t understand why people think we need another scoring option. We’re perfectly fine with Gilbert, Caron, and Antawn as the first 3 scoring options. We do need a guy that can spot up, shoot 3s, and space the floor, but not for 8-10 mil.

Pass
We don’t need any more streaky scorers on this team. I think Wiz have much bigger plans than Ben Gordan with this pick.
I have been
somewhat ostrecized for my whacky trade scenarios I’ve put out there, but this is awful. I can understand the reasoning from an outsiders perspective, but this trade does nothing for the Wizards. Gordon, in my mind, is way over-rated and overvalues himself. He should’ve signed the deal Chicago had on the table for him last year. At best, he’s another version of Arenas, minus the ball-handling and flair for the dramatic. He is a bigger liability on defense than Arenas, meaning we would have 4 starters who can’t guard their man. Songalia is better than James, and the value of Etan’s expiring contract is nothing to sneeze at either. Seriously, I just wouldn’t watch if they made this trade. In my opinion, we’d be better off drafting Harden, or even DeRozan at the 2 guard. Much better upside than Gordon, and both have actual 2-guard size as well.
As Hibachi said, we need a dependable spot up shooter to come off the bench (Roger Mason anyone?). Gordon’s value is in the Vinnie “Microwave” Johnson role as spark plug off the bench. As a starter, he leaves much to be desired.
On the contrary
I think everyone’s been amazingly inclusive and have bent over backwards to take your whacky trade scenarios seriously, despite the three consecutive ‘trade for Griffin’ posts on the same thread.
Want to be ostercised? Try defending Mike James for anything.
It’s going to be a long off-season, my friend…
MR, you got the wrong guy
CJHutch is the one who proposed trading for Shaq. Not that it changes your comment much anyway.
You know you'll get devoured by Cheaney, Wallace, and Juwan Howard.
CJ and I have been having a friendly back and forth about his crazy ideas all week, although you’re right, PointCenter has also been pushing the Griffin idea.

I can defend Mike James
on one thing. I saw the clip where he told off the TV nanny. Great stuff. He had a nice home too. It was in Houston I think . He should stay there.
too many chiefs not enough indians
not sure the chemistry would be good besides we need a better big man to pair w/ haywood, our backcourt is pretty solid
