With the 5th pick in the Mock Draft, Jake selects...
I've been going back and forth for the last month or so on what player I would take with the 5th pick at the given choice. I've tried to avoid giving an official endorsement to any player because I know the odds are good that I'll end up changing my mind sooner rather than later.
Anyways, I was asked to represent the Wizards in the NBA Outsider Mock Draft, so I had to make a decision at least for the moment on what player I would go with. I don't think it's a ground-shaking pick, but some of you might be surprised at who I passed up.

Was that your write up on the site, just making sure? I like your pick with Harden if it comes to that decision because of the reasons that was stated and I also feel a solid SG would help us more win now. Even though I would be more happier if they trade the pick as long as no one of interest worth taking falls there. Among all of the names that have come up I really don’t know yet who I would side with but honestly I am a big Ty Lawson fan and would like to see him get a chance with us but first of all I’m not sure he would be available at 5 or if we’re even looking at him and what the chances of his risk/reward would be.

Yep, that was my write-up
I actually wrote it up in a library while I was waiting for my girlfriend to get off work.

If we are keeping the pick
then I think you are dead on by selecting James Harden. Hasheem Thabeet falling to the Wizards is nice because it ups the value of the pick.
