"How Amare Might Become a Wizard" ESPN Insider

Welcome, What is up, I'm looking at the front page of espn.com and the rumor mill link is titled "How Amare Might become a Wizard".  Would anyone with Insider mind sharing with us whatever info is there?  I have to admit, when I saw that header my heart jumped higher than Shawn Kemp trying to get a 40 off of the top shelf.  The thought of Amare and Gil has me salivating.

Go Wizards !

Right

It’s part of the thing BF is doing with them too. We’re up today.

Ridiculous

Wizards Extreme thinks that if Sacramento had the 2nd pick, they would bypass Rubio for Thabeet? What are they smoking? Rubio is at a whole other level than Thabeet. Not to mention that Sacramento has a really good, young, and promising front court duo of Spencer Hawes and Jason Thompson. Why would they gamble on Thabeet and overcrowd the front court when they can have a sure-thing point guard that they really need? I don’t care who coaches the Kings next season, that team is going to need a play-maker and Beno Udrih is not it. I think Sacramento has a better chance of taking Rubio over Griffin at #1 than Thabeet over Rubio at #2. In fact, it may be a big blessing in disguise for the Kings if they get the #2 pick, because the best player available will be at the position that they need help at the most.

As for the trade proposal, give me a break. When is the last time anybody predicted a complex three-way trade that actually happened? I want the three minutes back that it took to digest that analysis.

Yea

I couldn’t even finish that article. The whole premise was retarded.

I've never heard of Wizards Extreme before today...

Reading their post, I assumed they came up with that weird trade idea for shock value…

How the Post lets that bologna through is beyond me. I guess that’s why it required that little note by the editor before the actual posting.

honestly

i think its their way of acknowledging bloggers while trying to keep them ‘in their place’. They incorporate the lunatic fringe only to point at them and laugh.

I don't think they are that sinister

Based on how they worked with me. I really do think they wanted to provide voices for people they felt could add some value. They just picked a site that didn’t.

Good question

There’s no chance they’d pass on Rubio.

I don't know what's crazier

That the Kings wouldn’t take Rubio or that the Raptors would be willing to give up Bosh for Steve Nash and the 14th pick in the draft. I’m honestly flabbergasted.

There are about 25 regular posters on Realgm who could have done a better job than Wizards Extreme.

I'd say 100

At least.

I dont think there is a chance for this deal

Plus, we do need defense. We already have enough guys who can contribute towards putting up 120 in games. We do not need any more players like that. Why not keep the sick offense we already have and build this team defensively a little better.

If McGee can come to his own, I think he becomes a scary defender. Already a great scorer.

You have to hate losing more than you love winning.

So this is how rumors are "reported" now?

Wow – A blogger’s dream wish trade idea, is put into the Washington Post’s Wizard’s Insider blog… The Post responds….. and then it’s picked up by ESPN?

Anyone wonder why I never trust the “rumors” section of ESPN

Yep

Thats exactly what ESPN’s Rumor Mill works. Its like they never heard of hoopshype.com

Now I see why there was no link posted here about roundtable pick #3

It’s hilarious that ESPN posts a link to that garbage instead…

And not only post a blog trade idea as a rumor

but put it on the front page!? You can do better than that ESPN

ahh

ha okay, i saw the link and was hoping it was something faintly substantial, but it appears not to be

If that would happen

It would need to be followed by an article explaining that the Wizards would give up 130 points every game.

Would you invest 200 million dollars on Arenas and Stoudemire?

The Jamison and #5 deal is fair but I really don’t see how any owner in the NBA could think it’s a wise investment to have 200 million dollars on two guys who are coming off of microfracture surgery (among other injuries). And you KNOW Amar’e is expecting a full max deal.

And honestly, if Phoenix really wants to move Stoudemire, I wouldn’t be stunned if they settled for just Jamison. Rent Amar’e for the year, if he works out, re-sign him. If not, you just dumped Jamison’s contract and gave yourself a little cap room to play with in 2010.
